Because I feel like the amount of Sea Clusters correspond with the oceans in our earth so…

Seven seas are near New zealand, people inhabited it after migrating south from the Old sea, though I’m pretty sure what sets the Old sea south of New zealand is some magnetic pole fuckery

I get the feeling that the I5 zones are mostly relatively far from the sea clusters, with the exception of the War Seas (on account of proximity to the Epicenter)
In lore you get insane and depressed the longer you travel, there’s no i4-i5 that instakills you, as in the future, Averil will travele all around the world just fine.
Its mostly there for gameplay purposes.
World is covered in dark sea, and you just get more and more worn out / depressed the longer you travel. Since North and South poles are confirmed to be a visitable placees.

given that the sea clusters we see are relatively closer to where land was, I think that the deeper the waters are (think mariana trench), the more insanity there is

It’s not like you just get depressed cuz the darkness tho, it’s the magic radiation that makes you insane, which would have less of an effect on you if you are a powerful magic user (like averill)
The way I see it, it’s not that the furthest reaches are “worse parts of the dark sea” but rather all lower ranges are just less intense due to proximity to the hecate soul fragments in the center
Also it instantly killing you isn’t really canon, I meant “insanity 5” more so in that like, a shit ton of the uber high level atlanteans that can each match even powerful people like calvus in strength, and also abyssal/appolyon sea monsters everywhere

We’re going to venture out of the War Seas and into the Dragon Cluster, and fight and kill the local populace to obtain rare resources.
