About the jjk explanation i think that’s how it should be. But vetex is deadset on making magic and aura being seperate from the body.
So the way i understand it works is that any attack used by humans unconciously use magic energy, so instead of hitting someone like how animals hit us (percent damage) it reacts to the persons aura which based on the difference between the attacked and attacker’s auras they deal either more or less damage.
Tldr: jjk got it system well defined and easy to understand. AU one is kinda dubious without well defined lines
The thing is, JJK is a hard power system, it has defined rules and such.
AO has a soft system, minimal rules, and even they are barely tied to core of the power system, but rather to users.
Arcane verse’s power system is based on ‘intent’ and ‘energy’, thats all.
Not saying that any system is better than the other, and its fine if you have soft system, but just something worth pointing out.

On average yeah, the stronger you are, the large your storage is. But its more of a like…math formula for calculating strength
1 x 4 = 4 but 2 x 2 = 4
From what we know, there are some ‘modifiers’ for CE storage:
- Energy effifency (Gojo)
- Raw storage (Yuta and everyone else)
For AO, what gojo has is basicly copprshroom musgatives, he may have a regular CE storage, but he is able to use tiny amounts of it for his powerful techniques
Whilee Raw Storage is same as increasing AO energy storage with levels or with food.

Also there is output which determines how much energy you can use at once.
Of course more used means you’ll run out quicker.

Theoretical explonation: Non-inate / non person’s energy probably reacts differently to the boddies of living beings, randomy boosting affinities of a living thing or straight up melting living tissues but clashing with internal energy, creating something similar to gravity vs pressure in the stars, keeping semi-humanoid or at least, form of a living being, but molding it to adapt to the enviroment.

I think magic CAN alter bodies, Vetex has said before how rarely people are born with genetic mutations due to the magic energy in the air, which can cause people to have unnaturally coloured hair
