I thought you would rank up by getting mentioned in the Agora, so doing newsworthy tasks would be their equivalent to arrests/assassinations in the Gravy/Asyndicate. Basically the faction keeps their newspaper in business by telling their members to go out and do big things, MAKING news. Like manufacturing stories but they actually do it legit.
If I had to make a second guess, I think they’re like some sort of monster/cryptid hunting group. Not sure if it’s for the sake of hunting or for documentation or both though. The reason I say this is cause the three bosses they make you fight mentioned in the non-story bosses trello card, are all either messed up and weird humans who have now become sort of legendary monsters in their own right with their own legends now as seen with Hallbjorn. Or they’re just straight up monsters(or believed to be monsters) like the Ormolu.
