This could all be fixed if magic made people more physically tanky btw
This is literally how it works in my worldbuilding, your magic power directly can affect how strong your body is, making things like falling from great heights or being blown up by explosives less damaging to experienced magic users
i think theres still merit to that since ancient magics are still overpowered
so militaries would have people guarding and keeping a good position so the powerful mage can cast their nuke spell
its just that normal pure mages are not really worth squat in battles, youâd have to be a hybrid to be of use since leap and other mobility would be useful
i really wish heâd drop this though
just make people able to enhance their bodies with magic
I mean, in my own idea for AU lore, thatâs an effect of magic energy. Itâs technically chaos, the primordial force that created the world, so itâs capable of bending reality enough to the point youâre not hurt, for instance, by a bullet to the head nearly as much as you should be.
Mages are unemployed weirdoes who make up crazy powers and study them to fight other weirdoes with their powers and only they hurt each other and canât hurt people without magic
This feels like an allegory to autistic DnD players LMFAO
well in lore, if you have magic you arent forced into being a mage, having magic alone already puts you in a tier above everyone else regardless of whether you use it or not
you can learn any fighting style and use any weapon as well as learning as many magics as you want in lore, and considering the things magic can do that weapons cant (extended lifeforce just by having it which extends further if you master it, flight, overall enhancements to your body, etc) there is much reason to use magic.
Also, just because weapons are lethal to people doesnt mean magic isnt lethal, magic is just as if not even more lethal to people
