As in if the literal blade actually hit you, 99% of mages are turning you to a pile of ash for approaching them, let alone getting in swinging range
Also back then had bad aim let alone for someone who takes like 20 foot dashes
Unless its a headshot (that actually penetrates some people rarely survive that and mages are built different) your dieing before you can reload
By lore this wouldnât work
I mean I guess bro but that feels more like a quality of life benefit rather than something notable in a combat situation
To be honest if I spent all my magic practice time to just master the movement spells I think Iâd be fine, maybe even quite strong if I can pair that with regular weaponry lmao
certainly, there are so many useful applications of magic
being stabbed in the heart is a death for almost anyone, but magic isnt saving you after being stabbed, its preventing the stabbing in the first place (such as by acting defensively)
also quoting vetex saying that anything extraordinary is done by magic energy and then saying magic is âquite uselessâ is a bit counter intuitive, dont you think?
It is useless lol. If I can pick up a gun and one shot the peacekeeper (vetex says this would happen) magic means literally nothing
get a screenshot of vetex saying any nobody could get a gun and kill the peacekeeper and ill believe you, otherwise youre just misinterpreting his statements and twisting them to fit your anti magic narrative
This means the most meta spells in the AU are probably the following:
-leap
-construct
-path
-barrier
-hover
-hasta (maybe)
something about how magic prevents technological advances or that vetex doesnât think enough about it ![]()
the peacekeeper dies to a gun. Who mind you is one of the strongest characters surpassing durza and curse beard and likely Theos. Who kills hades him self. Dies to a gun
Basically the only things that magic seems to do in the AU is the following:
-hype moments and aura
-getting around
-living a longer lifespan
-sometimes improving your job (for example the bartender at the sailorâs lodge uses his ice magic to cool his glasses)
Which honestly? I guess isnât so bad⌠even if it is a little underwhelming for something born from literal chaos lmao
i see, however theres still a few things to add
-
absorption is retconned into a blessing rather than a sea curse (meaning it utilizes spirit energy rather than magic energy), and vetex states other curses would not be affected by this (since they can phase into their element)
-
this is a very big if, weâre talking about one of the most powerful characters in universe, even if hes distracted you probably wont be able to surprise attack him with a gun
7,000 magicless bums with guns VS the peacekeeper
also in this scenario, this is if he does absolutely nothing and just lets you shoot him, which is unrealistic (again like i said before, magic doesnt save you from the injury, it helps you prevent it)
unless you have like phoenix magic or something, allanon tanked getting stabbed while his wife died
So a regular gun or well bullet wonât kill a curse user this is correct. Devourer bullets would as they harm the user it self though yes curses are still op and itâs for a simple reasons curses arenât bound by magic creation, they can create the real material but stronger
magic also creates the real material but the difference is magic fades out like background radiation whereas creations with curses are permanent
storm magic can create a real temporary storm, storm curse can create a permanent storm lasting however long the user wants it to
It actually doesnât. Magic mimics the properties of the element/material but itâs not real. A metal magic user doesnât make real metal just a magical mimic of it. Curses do the real thing
If that was the case then why donât DoT magics deal percentage damage like the sickness status effect you get from swimming in dirty water
