Lost Magic: Dry Ice Magic

I’m surprised there isn’t a suggestion for Dry Ice magic.

It’s an overpowered idea. Regular ice is cold at 32°F. Dry ice is extremely cold at -109°F.
Since dry ice is composed of carbon dioxide, it sublimates by releasing gas. If enough carbon dioxide gas is present, a person can become unconscious, and in some cases, die.

Dry Ice Mechanics

  • Dry Ice Magic applies the Freezing status effect.
  • After 4 hits, the next hit by Dry Ice Magic will do 1.5x damage and give the target Frostbite, if the target is still freezing.
  • The Frostbite status effect, applied by Dry Ice Magic, weakens heat-based and liquid magics, but synergizes with cold and liquid magics, increasing their damage and freezing targets. Similar to the Burning status effect, it does damage over time.
  • [Maybe] Leaves clouds of gas on contact. If enough gas is present, the target will not be able to replenish magic energy or stamina.
  • [Maybe] Leaves rubbles of dry ice which gives off gas that goes away very slowly.

Dry Ice Damage Interactions

  • Deals 40% more damage against bleeding targets and clears the effect
  • Deals 30% more damage against frozen targets
  • Deals 30% more damage against soaked targets and applies the Frozen status
  • Deals 25% more damage against snowy targets and applies the Frostbite status
  • Deals 5% less damage against charred targets and clears the effect
  • Deals 5% less damage against burning/petrified targets
  • Deals 10% less damage against scorched targets

Things to Note

  • I think the name “Dry Ice Magic” is bad, so maybe change it to Promethean Ice Magic.
  • Yes, Dry Ice does look bland.

this is a very dry idea
