Make elysium a subscription-based service

Make elysium a subscription-based service
effort 0.0 0 quality 0.0 0 reasonability 1.75 4

irrelevant, the point was there is better ping in elysium servers, not that elysium is a good place to pvp

yeah you can always do this but this is also assuming everybody does this

i don’t have a problem with this but vetex probably would so 0% chance of it happening in every conceivable parallel universe

The problem is when vetex starts adding actual content to Elysium (as he’s stated to be planning) and expects people to be quiet when it costs 100 robux per hour.
He’s walking into a minefield willingly despite holding a remote that could disable all the explosives in a single button press.

where has he stated this raid boss feature at (or any of this content you’re talking about), ive never once seen proof of it just heard people say it

could you provide a link or a source of some kind

It was mentioned in the trello patch notes when elysium was added.

Found it in the v1.13.81 patch notes

This is a really cool idea and I want to see it done, but elysium remaining a paid feature frankly at all is going to get vetex a whole lot of flak when he adds this stuff.
Keeping it as a subscription service is going to make people go nuclear on him.

this sounds like it’ll either be cancelled or only be for fun/challenge

don’t think any drops outside of cosmetics will be obtained from this im not going to lie

That is a dangerous assumption.
Literally nothing implies that.

not really, its the teams golden rule to make every transaction purely cosmetic or QoL (though, i guess the subscriptions will give 25k galleons each month)

not outlandish to say this would only give titles, badges, or any other form of cosmetic

That golden rule seems to have broken down with recent additions.
(the essence gamepass)

other than the 25k which isn’t really an advantage since anybody can get galleons if they wanted to, what other additions go against this

essence is QoL

Yea, that directly affects gameplay.
It isn’t cosmetic, its part of your build.

Purchasing something to not play the game is an enormous red flag.

cosmetic or QoL, anybody can swap magics for free but this is just if you don’t want to go to dark sea

it’s definitely a weird addition but it isn’t pay to win at all, plus im pretty sure it has a cooldown too

The original ‘golden rule’ as you call it was that gamepasses were only going to be cosmetic.
Don’t think I didn’t notice the goalpost move with “and qol”.

not sure exactly where it was said but QoL has always been part of it, loadouts for example are QoL

durable notes (which is one of the first passes in the game) is QoL

QoL gamepasses (especially like essence pass) are the same to me as P2W gamepasses.
You are purchasing something to not interact with the game’s systems.

Following this logic, vetex could add a double XP pass and since everyone can level up for free, it wouldn’t be P2W.

well we’re already somewhat getting a pass like that with the whole starter pack thing that lets you skip all of the story up to like nimbus or something i dont really remember

and yes i see nothing wrong with a 2x exp gamepass, levels are incredibly easy to obtain

That pass is only accessible after you’ve cleared the story, though I still disagree with it.

I also disagree with outfits being locked behind a gamepass, locking basic QoL features behind paywalls is incredibly shitty practice.

you don’t get any advantage to being able to swap your set at a moments notice versus unequipping and reequipping the pieces individually

you could make an argument for durable notes being the absolute bare miniscule amounts of P2W since you do get galleons for appraisals, but thats just so insignificant

The advantage is that your time isn’t wasted because you bought a basic QoL feature for the low low price of 599.

“In gaming, Quality of life refers to a player’s enjoyment and satisfaction, while pay to win (P2W) mechanics allow players to spend real money for in-game advantages, potentially creating an unfair, wealth-based competition that can diminish the quality of the game.”
