My TGR Opinions

Alright I’m gonna talk about mostly positive points to some major topics about the whole situation. These are just a few points id like to bring up. tl;dr TGR is one of the best things to happen and will heavily fix the game.

Continent to Island
I’ve seen many people pretty upset about this change, but truly think about how much effort NEEDS to be put into a continent. You need to make sure each area doesn’t feel empty while also developing each area in a reasonable amount of time. Bronze Grasslands wasn’t even that big and yet took quite a while for the builders to even make. Making it islands allows areas to be developed faster yet give meaning to each island if done right.

Vetex should move forward still and make sure each island is big with a variety of things to do. Small AA islands are not the way to go as you could basically explore that entire island in like a minute max.

Removal of Flight
Removal of flight absolutely needed to be done in order to make sure the ocean is at least a danger. I get you want to just fly around, but you need to understand the amount this ruins a games exploration and danger. Take rogue with uber mages flying. They can literally zip zap from one area to another EASILY. You’ll still have hover and high jump if you’re really concerned about wanting to stay airborne, but flight is literally a get out of jail free card.

AA Clone
I don’t understand what do you guys mean by an AA clone. WoM originally was just a fairy tail game that later connected to AA. Arcane Odyssey is the true sequel which heavily takes what AA and WoM did right into this new revamp. I’ve heard things about how WoM is so original, but literally nothing about it is and overall feels very generic. You got a basic ass tower, few towns with no personality, flat ass world, generic volcano, and a generic ass mountain. Nothing about this world feels like it’s interesting and having it turn into islands can create a sense of excitement finally getting to that new big island to discover.

Then again, Vetex can fuck up and add things from AA that shouldn’t be brought back (cough impact fist). We just have to see whether or not these are gonna be good changes for the game. This is truly how a sequel should’ve been made and what Vetex truly wants to make.

hover

hover

shit i mistyped

fixed, hover wont get you that far and you’ll be limited by your amount of magic. flight is literally point a to b in a split second

hover but agility 9 billion

Oh yeah you could get impact fist now since it hasn’t been that long from AA, as long as Vasco is alive, time to sail around the world to find vasco

(cough radius fist cough colossal cutlass)

Straight facts. Impact fist was annoying all-round

I wish more people thought about things this way, instead of overreacting and saying the game will die cuz muh moving npc immersion gone :frsleepin:

Why you coughing, it was completely fair and balanced wdym, :pensive:

Flight removal bad. I won’t be threated by the seas at level 1000 so just give me flight or give me fast travel.

fast travel? hey you wanna get from point a to b instantly acting like the open world doesn’t exist, go ahead!

you should be threatened by the sea

let his dreams be dreams

I won’t be threatened by the sea with my level 900 super speedy death machine ship with more health than an island.

If there are threats to me at that level, I pity the poor folks with level 200-500 ships that get destroyed when they try to sail to another island.

wonder if future areas will have more dangerous seas

I hope the story isn’t so linear that once I leave the first sea I never ever come back.

They will. Only makes sense really.
(Watch there be an area only accessible by max levels and it’s a alpha white eyes breeding ground.)

(insert AA titlescreen theme while alpha white eyes slowly fly into space)

wait, you mean shop npcs won’t always be dead or sleeping when I try and do something?

oh god oh fuck i can feel my internal organs melting. If i don’t find a sleeping or dead vendor in the next 5 minutes i’m going to spontaneously combust and die oh fuck

On a more serious note, I never really cared for moving NPCs. It’s a novelty thing. It’s cool, but adds very little to the game.

Removal of flight spells is a little bit sad, but god damn I love boats. A small price to pay, for salvation.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Being an AA clone isn’t a bad thing. AA was THE perfect game. Ok maybe im a little blinded by nostalgia, but it was pretty damn good.

My only gripe is the fact that nothing is being done about client sided pvp. I’m not sure if a fix is even possible, but that’s one of the few things that bugs me about WoM.

I understand your sentiments man I really do. Based on what i’ve gathered, WoM is YOUR “AA”, if that makes sense…but I have to disagree with some parts :c

Immersive NPC’s were cool, I can’t deny that. No other Roblox RPG executed it as well as WoM did…which was poorly. They were randomly generated and their place in the world hardly mattered. Yes they reacted to threats, yes it was cool to watch them walk, but it is not worth the immense resource consumption for people to go “Oh that’s cool” when an npc does anything.

330 npcs at once each with their own AI is a fuck-ton. It’s not sustainable.

WoM may be losing what made it “unique”, BUT, it will GAIN new features that will set it apart from other RPGs such as awesome weather, influential dialog choices (like a telltale game), lost spells, shark battles, naval war, and so much more man.

I won’t try to change your mind, all I can say is…come at TGR with an open mind.
