man balance team will do anything but actually fix power scalling, im telling u even with the essence nerf, people will still stack power, bc the problems isnt the stat, its the formula
also can we just leave atk speed in peace? it has been already hard nerf, wont be surprise if it got gutted
only if the balance team made it so after u gain x amount of power, its starts to scale worse, or maybe make substatst worth to run and easy to gain, like in 1.14, idk man, i think we should nerf the amount of power so after 3 weeks people can run 200 power and deal 500 dmg again
Honestly I donât think drawback is really going to do much for it. Plus, I think itâd be more interesting if essence took away of other stats (since we dont really have a lot of stuff that does that iirc)
When you stack too much power, your attacks shrink since you need precision to deal maximum damage (EX: max power = 110).
When you overload on defense, your movement slows as your armorâs weight drags you down (EX: max defense = 800).
When you push attack speed too far, your strikes weaken because theyâre too fast to land with full force (EX: max attack speed relative to 140 = 120).
When you overextend attack size, your swings slow under their own bulk (EX: max size = 110).
(all max examples are relative to level 140)
If the balance team just implemented mechanics like this, we wouldnât be dealing with half the problems these stats cause now. Stop overcomplicating things by splitting, adding, and nerfing endlessly.
but what if i really want to make a build that focuses in on one of these stats? now iâm being punished for wanting to be really speedy and gimmicky, and if the stat is op, adding a drawback isnât going to dissuade me from using it anyway
nah, that just a bad thing, maybe if the game was designed with that in mind, but it just doesnt work for AO, i have an idea, how about we have back the formulas from 1.14 so people can focus on substats, while making it so power scales far worse after u reach like, idk 120? so people cant power stack? suddenly we dont even need to nerf atl essence just to nerf power stacking, almost like giving people the option to make more builds than 2 and actually have a chance to win is gonna fix a lot of the problems

Ngl I still think that the armor system should be reworked entirely.
The current system is always going to be ass because of how itâs built. You have two stats that are required and a bunch of other stats that become op based on those two required stats, and it will always eventually come full circle for whatever substat is broken with it being built like this. This is just how it ends up being with games that have stats that increase your damage and increase your hp to counteract this.
it adds like 40 ep and is an easy way to increase any stat that youâre currently lacking. its absolutely going to make a difference in a fight whether you like it or not, and i shouldnât have to sacrifice visuals for stats even if its optional. both mechanics that necessitate it (beast defense and atl essence) are bad for the game
its mostly used for power, which can be easily fixed by not allowing power stacking to be a thing, the other substats arent gonna change the fight at all, and even then its a stat problem anyways, atk speed aint great, intensity is fun but not viable, only atk size is good enough and that is getting nerfed, even then the amount it adds is not enough to massively help someone to win, if that thing is even so much of a problem for u, how about u get some warding or stop having a skill issue, im actually tired of this, ima just call it what it is, a skill issue
doesnt using a virtuous scroll cancel out the benefits of atlantean essence anyway? you may as well not use it at that point
i can play with atl essence btw, at least on i1 its not unplayable for me. and you are right that you canât downright statcheck someone with atlantean essence, but itâs still a decent advantage for having to sacrifice practically nothing, other than your enjoyment of the game
if i have an incentive in the game to sacrifice having fun for better stats its never a good thing. thats why i hate beast defense and atlantean essence so much, no matter how âminisculeâ of an impact that they have, no matter how âoptionalâ they are

i cant parry or get better, im so forced to sacrifice my visibility, why must i tolerate the easies too ignore stuff, oh im so stuck on 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 insanity
im so forced to fight against insanity and not power stacking that the balance team is too stubborn to change the formula in any significant way, how am i gonna get 300+ atk size to be carried by it without insanity, how unfair they can do that and i cant, or any other stat
