some issues:
fire resistance is nice but ice has like 5 weaknesses to very common moves in the meta so it’s not doing a lot for it
hail is the worst weather condition
also if it looks bulky it probably is so thus its speed stat probably stinks even with slush
agreed but it’s still a weather condition that can deal damage, making people who use focus sash still get KO’d after a turn. Still has plenty room to grow into a sweeper. It may not be an OU level pokemon, or even N/RU, but I doubt it’ll be so bad that it’s untiered.
yes and Excadrill (w/ Sand Rush) was banned from OU in gen 5 (other gens too idk but I know for certain gen 5) for that same reason, only it’s typing is pretty good compared to just mono ice.
Swampert’s mega form was also pretty powerful thanks to it’s Swift Swim ability, which made it pop off in rain.
While ice has plenty of weaknesses, it’s a glass cannon, and ice is one of the better offensive types in the game. Imo that’s success for a potential sweeper. Get a pokemon on your team with snow warning, like Alolan Ninetales and you’re pretty much good to go. No telling if Alolan Ninetales will be in S/V but it’s possible, that or another pokemon worthy of replacing it.
yea but ground is also an offensive type with more resistances and can’t take damage in sandstorm
i love it, always been a fan of pokemon and this is the kind of game i dreamed of as a kid
