Next Update Waterbreathing Gems

dont wanna type out my whole thesis again but ill say again that infinite breathing just makes diving better rn
keep it until more things with diving get added because i dont believe the oxygen meter being your arch nemesis is good gameplay (sea monsters too ig but those have their own issues)
potions do practically the same thing gems do so this does nothing beyond mildly inconveniencing people for no reason

in my opinion as i said the real flawed thing is how diving works but for now infinite breathing is better

When I first started diving I didn’t use any revealing pots, so exploring the structures usually took around 5-10 minutes, sometimes longer if I missed a chest or if there was some placed in a stupid spot.

Nowadays with revealing and my diving set it usually takes a minute and doesn’t take any longer than 4 minutes.

In the first case it was pretty annoying to have to constantly go back up for air and it would be a death sentence if I didn’t remember to refresh my water breathing in time.

In the second case I could probably do without my full waterbreathing gems and just use mid-tier potions. Usually underwater structures have enough auric seaweed to keep making more potions anyway. It’s still very convenient to have the waterbreathing gems though since I don’t have to worry about potions.

But youre DOING IT AGAIN, just revert the gem nerf and everything will be okay?? Everyone will be happy again, and potions will still be better than infinite air gems because you can use potions and max swim sped instead of sacrificing those slots for waterbreathing as i said, why are you PUSHING this Gem nerf???

It makes diving allot more fun especially if some diving spots look cool and you wanna look at them for a while, like the giant gem diving spots that are very rare to see.

“meta arcane”

“fluect arcane”

what is this cheesy ass cult shit I’m looking at???

I can see that this change is very disliked due to Diving Points becoming less explorable, and while this might not be (it really isn’t) related to an idea I’ve made to ‘revamp’ how Diving Points are presented and hopefully get Diving Gear into the game, I believe that this change could be offset exactly by the fact that we could get gear specifically related to underwater activities in general.

If you want to look at the suggestion itself, then here you go:

(I also didn’t know this was coming up, but I guess that’s more of a reason to consider adding Diving Gear in the game)

Yes its quite disliked yet theyre still trying to push it when its clear it will just make diving less popular and just pisses people off when they can just NOT do it and just ignore it for the rest of the games lifespan and everything will be fine, people wont be angry, its that simple.

I’m not pushing it; how many times do I have to repeat myself that it is a bug as confirmed by Vetex? It is by no means a change we are “pushing”; it’s simply just a bug report.

It is not a bug, it is a unplanned feature
(seriously tho, it would better for everyone if it keep working how it currently does)

when the bug makes the game better to play for the majority of players i dont think it should be fixed

this isnt unheard of either just look at hoiks from terraria…
obviously theyre different but fact of the matter is infinite breathing is better until more diving stuff gets added (abyssal diving spots dont count they just make infinite breathing more important, im talking like proper diving gear, diving bell, weapons that are designed for underwater, etc.)

nobody is saying its NOT a bug report, people are saying it should stay in the game for right now

Yeah, and that’s something for Vetex to decide, not us.

I’m familiar with the concept of bugs turning into feature, as it has actually happened in AO multiple times in testing. But personally, I think for what Vetex intended with waterbreathing is that you’re supposed to use potions to be able to stay underwater indefinitely. If players really have a hard time with air capacity after the bugfix, then the base water breathing time could be increased or the jewel effect could be buffed further. But I don’t see a need for it to have a way for it to be passively infinite, especially since you don’t even need a full set of jewels for it to be infinite right now.

yeah i get what this change is trying to go for
it doesnt need to be infinite especially when hopefully more and more stuff with diving comes out
I understand you guys cant control what vetex wants, but ive been saying its better to have it now though because im just not really fond of how diving is currently and how it seems its gonna go in the near future (I’d prefer like… this is maybe a bit out there but a submarine attached to your ship that you can drive around underwater (diving bell but you can drive it). Anything more engaging than chugging potions yknow)

tldr my issue is with how diving works in general right now and infinite breathing makes it better (i understand you guys cant really control what vetex decides for his game though)

Then tell vetex to make a statement, we want to hear it from him about this matter because its turning into a big problem now, i think the most fair thing to do would be to hold a poll on waterbreathing gems to see what the PEOPLE want.

Just ping Vetex yourself, get banned for few days and free us from another yaptopic. It’s will be the best solution. :fr:

Thermo is still the best fighting style

Barely, the heat gain mechanic makes it difficult to run especially as warlords who need to balance using weapon skills (losing heat for some reason or at least gaining less heat) with using fighting style Techniques (less range and size but more heat gain)

it does not take 10 hours to gather seaweed or auric seaweed

This was a bteam thing go bother them

its not, vetex reported the bug himself
just that nobody got around to fixing it the past year or so
