One more sensing poll from me

out of the 4 sensing features, which one is the most useless or in the most need of a rework?

  • Spirit Sense - Targets Health, Color determined by targets HP, Can sense Underwater Structures, Shipwrecks and Ghost Ships at high tiers
  • Energy Sense - Targets Level, Color Determined by First Magic Color, can sense Dark Sea Structures at high tiers
  • Challenge Sense - Targets Level, Color determined by Playerkills, will be Notified when a Miniboss Spawns at high tiers
  • Hunting Sense - Targets Level, Color is determined by Renown, Notified if a Sea Creature is targeting them at high tiers

spirit sense = oracle sensing
energy sense = mage sensing
challenge sense = berserker sensing
hunting sense = warrior sensing

Dunno about you guys, but being notified that a shark has agroed on me is a huge deal. Anyone who got snuck by one would know. (Also then white eyes won’t be able to ambush you)

Would you rather be able to reliably find large amounts of treasures or know if a shark is coming at you?

We have revealing potions for that, no shark detection tho

Oh i just realised it’s locked for warrior, unideal

hunting is dogshit for now if you dont pvp

maybe in the future when weapon crafting and monster hunting is expanded it’ll be more useful

maybe similar to challenge sense it will be able to tell you when a “boss monster” has spawned?

You do realize sharks are also affected by revealing potion?
And no, revealing doesn’t work for entire islands and structures. Yes, it can highlight chests in them, but not even tier V would be able to match what was shown in the video.
Weapons sensing is just straight up bad.

I wouldn’t say bad, but it is very much outclassed. I think challenge sense is the one that is truly bad.
Also even with revealing, you WILL get snuck by sharks, and think about the dark sea animals which may blend into the enviroment. As for minibosses you just check the bounty/contract boards

warrior is just too good, having shit sensing will make it more even with the other 3

yeah its gotta be hunting sense. Knowing if a shark has agroe’d onto you is cool and all but its not exactly telling you where the shark is. You have to spend a moment looking around.

You’ll either
A: find the shark comfortably and take it out
B: Fumble around with your camera, find it and get bitten anyway.

You could trivialize this sensing feature by popping a reveal III potion before going in the water. If you see an orange circle, you hop on your attachments and kill it safely. Heck, maybe you don’t even need reveal potions and you can instead sense them without needing the agro.

In all fairness; the sense doesn’t just apply to sea creatures.

It Could also potentially be useful if you’re about to be mauled by a bear.

Me personally, i think it’d be cool if it extended to players. If a player/npc has their camera pointed at you and is charging an attack, you get notified.

And instead of being given a notification message when you agro an animal; It’d be nice if an arc appeared in the middle of the screen that told you where the creature is comming from.

I think we’re not talking about challenge sense and that you can find minibosses through bounty/contracts. It’s sensing is something you can find through the player list and the aformentioned bountys/contracts.
Atleast hunting sense gives you spidey senses

If you want boss drops and don’t want to spend your time on the bounty board, then the sense lets you know when you have an opportunity, instead of having you run to a board every 5 minutes

The only thing I really want is for hybrids to have access to tier 3 sensing in at least one of their stats so their not just strictly worse than savants when it comes to sensing

Atleast hunting sense gives you something that isn’t given by the game. I bet that it will be very useful in the dark sea with the new animals there (especially the far reaches ones from what i could gather by testers in the forum)

Correct, they give you something that’s given by birth. It’s called sight and hearing.

(Yes, I am aware blind and deaf people exist but deaf people can still see the creatures and I doubt blind people play games like Arcane Odyssey)

Say that when you get snuck by a shark in the most unexpected moments (speaking from expirience)

Dude it is a fact that weapons is the worst one of all, followed by strength, and miles above them spirit and finally magic.

All I want is for energy sensing to be able to sense a certain blob of magic god energy that it should very obviously be able to sense.
(we don’t know if it does or doesn’t yet since not much of its capability was shown in the video)

I think every sensing type will be useful, hunting sense included, especially for dark sea purposes.

Conjurors will have a field day in the dark sea being able to use hunting and energy sense freely lol.

I’d argue the strength one is the worst, but i do agree that energy and spirit outmatcjes them both
