Open World PvP is a problem

“worst case scenario” treasure charts and sealeds just don’t exist anymore?

For charts and normal sealeds, yeah 5min. For dark sealeds, I have no idea how you manage to get ganked unloading sealeds, you can litteraly just pass the border to store them, force roblox to create a server, and unload em there

Imo the issue is the new player experience.

If no new players play then the game will slowly die.

People like me are too invested to be deterred by AO nonsense. Both Pvp and Pve.

I can handle being killed and losing my treasure charts and sealed chests, but if a new player has a bad time, I can’t say they’d play again.

The lvl 50 shield is basically saying “we have a problem” and instead of making pvp more interesting they just banned it outright.

There is this one idea posted by Pilles from the Balance Team I’d like to highlight

this basically turns it into the ranked gamemode people want and also gets rid of the current witchhunting-based renown leaderboard we have now

Level 50 players aren’t PVPing with other level 50s. There’s storyline for them to do at that point, and they’d almost certainly be trying to avoid fights.

Also, at level 50 you have access to like 3-4 abilities in total, good luck making that interesting…

weapon builds got some extra, most someone would have is like 6 weapon skills and like 2 magic. a more reasonable one is level 100 pvp, ive tried it and it actually goes pretty well (although this was a 1v1 with a friend).

Ironically I do want to talk about some early game stuff I’ve observed but that’d probably be a wall of text ngl.

Dead clan, and also because they either leave, or stay. we needed more people. and we arn’t in clan only servers

it actually can be somewhat interesting depending on context (for me atleast)
i was progressing a new file when these two level 50-60ish guys decide to jump me

me being the goat i am i won after a bit of struggle as i never really have done early game pvp

ended up having a chat with them and we all were chill with it at the end

ok so idk if ur talking about getting killed or getting chased for 5 minutes because in reference to charts specifically these are VERY different. if you are, for instance, working on a legendary chart and some random dude kills you, boom, no more legendary treasure chart. all of your progress (and likely sealeds too) is gone. now if this same guy hits you once and then you dive into the ocean for a while, yes that is only 5 minutes wasted

what if bee texas just made a wilderness type mechanic like in other MMORPG games like runescape, where, you would have to go to a wilderness setting outside of questlines/NPCs to actually do PVP…

The ocean is a massive place and with a lot of random/big islands already, it would make sense.

I snare people then walk away, if they throw more than 3 blasts at me i kill them, pretty fun activity

I snare fellow positive renowns to see how long it takes them to notice that the 10 hit grab combo didn’t actually damage them
