Except the boss was the only working employee until a few months ago. Now that he’s got a bit of a group, hopefully he can make better updates. I wasn’t excusing Vetex for poor updates, I was pointing out that he didn’t have as much help back then, so the updates are gonna be worse. Hopefully full release will be better.

I think that the statement is kind of, weird, if not dumb, because it completely contradicts the idea of making a gamepass, you intend for it to be bought, if it wasn’t that then you simply don’t make it, but oh well we can’t read Vetex’s mind.

On creation being the opposite of customization, I suppose you’re talking about customizing an existing character vs creating a new character? Either way, I don’t think that needing to put time or resources into leveling a new character or changing an existing character is a heavy discouragement. If someone wants to try something new, they can get a feel for it fairly early into the leveling process. I do think improvements could be made to facilitate trying new builds, such as a shared bank so you can store items before deleting a character, or move items between characters with ease.
I don’t see the game as being primarily story-driven. It gives the player somewhere to go, nothing more. Also, a linear story does not make a game bad.
I’m not sure how immersion is similar to replayability, unless you’re also calling it a red herring, whatever that means in this context. I also am not sure how immersion is close to “player interactivity”.
I’m not sure how the player being affected by the environment goes against the idea of immersion.
What’s immersive about clicking a button on a screen to select a character? Sometimes you can’t make everything completely immersive, and I’d rather not take a hit to my fame every time I end up closer to a private chest than a vendor. I also suppose it keeps a character that is nominally a hero honest - you can’t burn fame on looting every private chest and then go kill a few sirens to get your fame back up.

Saying something like “AO isn’t actually a good game” is a bit of an overexaggeration, but I’ll assume you really meant it.
Fair enough. It’s definitely AO’s main problem and the biggest reason as to why it’s dying. (By popular gaming standards, at least)
Customization is heavily discouraged? That isn’t necessarily true, as there’s absolutely a build out there for every player and playstyle- whether you want to run agility, attack speed, size, etc… In terms of viable armor, yes there is a lack of choice, but in the end you’re still customizing your build. Vanity also exists for people who want to couple their build with good looks.
Creation in Arcane Odyssey is not discouraged, atleast if you’re not actively trying to play the game in a different way from what Vetex intended. Some things that support this would be existence of free files(You start with three, so it’s not wrong to say that you’re meant to max out all of them with different builds), clans, and clanbuilding (Flawed, but the point still stands).
