every build gets ruined twin , broken armor removes the stat bonuses so for example; if you were to be in a deeper part of dark seas and your theurgist or any kind of warding set by a dragon gets ripped apart yet you somehow managed to escape you’re gonna get fucked by the insanity damage anyways (unless they make repairing fast but i doubt cuz inventory related stuff will always lag)
nvm i read it wrong it was 90% stat removal but still i wonder how thats gonna apply to warding

It won’t. Stats won’t go into decimals. 1 will remain 1. But, if it has Virtuous, that will go down to 1, and you will be screwed if you’re in the i4 range

… Jewels exist with 0.5 or 0.6 drawback, pretty sure

I liked the mechanics. I don’t mind them. I think it’s a cool and creative addition. It’s not like it’s going to break at every step and repairing it is easy. Maybe they’ll have a cool effect by expanding the range of customization.

I’d argue screaming and cursing is the healthier reaction to getting your arm fucking torn off. I’d be much more concerned if I saw someone’s arm get chopped off and they go “Awh golly gee, at least I’m lighter now!”

You’re being intentionally silly, right? Obviously, no sane person is going to sit and drink tea with blood gushing from their arm into their friend’s mouth. Don’t make generalizations like that. It was just an example. There’s no need to explain something as obvious as that, unless it’s not obvious to you.

You understood my point about perspectives very well ( I hope ); of course, it’s not the same for all contexts, but it’s a matter of relationship and time, if in the long term that’s what you’ll want to think about.

Yes, believe it or not, swearing at the beginning or when you’re angry helps to “release” the anger, which actually lowers cortisol levels, promoting better well-being.

The biggest problem with immersionslop is that it just brings feature noone like to ruin what we like. I only havee an issue with a few of them, since stuff like Waterpoisoning or Wave snatching is fine by me.

Tanning & Dirt

It ruins your drip and was the only ever cross-server feature that lingered on a character, while potions and meal effects didnt. Sure, we had sameria ice and now soap, but they only solve a problem that was created for immersion.

Fall Damage

AO was original intended to be grounded combat game, but it was made into areal, so fall damage is kind-off weird to implement in airial combat. I can understand extreme cases such as stepstone or skyhall, but we are magicly-imbued beings, why am i taking quarter of my hp for skipping a single layer in climbing stepstone, when i can litteraly asceend same distance with mobility skills? And why can we even parry it? Doesnt it defeat the purpose?

Ruined gear

While i cannot say for certain how bad it will be, but i just dont get the vetex’s obsession with stat reduction…First AP getting 4TH ABILITY and now this? It doesnt look too bad tho, if you have expensive armor, you have means to fix it.

You made your points very clear. I like texts like that. Of course, this is a personal matter, and I understand that other people are different and have different perspectives. So I completely respect your point; I just introduced a psychological concept that many might not understand. For me, if it’s not something absolutely illogical, I’m in. For example, if there wasn’t lore for water poison, it would be much more boring and unpleasant, but everything tends to have an explanation, even if minimal. :+1:

You can break some drips but at same time introduce new drips with a broken-looking style!

The cazal has a wind arm and it was mentioned that we’re going to have passive spells, I WANT AN ICE ARM, CAZAL!!!, rip mine off!

They over-generalized the hate towards the entire patch-note rather than the very clear SPECIFIED hate towards armor breaking.

No, I’ve been working with painites for a bit, even fused the two. Its always 1 drawback. Or the fine print just doesn’t show decimals, for whatever reason, can’t know that

The advantage I see out of this feature is as a drachma sink, and perhaps an interesting change to how animal hunts feel compared to normal fights due to needing to back away and repair for a second. I imagine it’ll be like soap: you buy it whenever you find a tailor, and use it to deal with whatever needs scrubbing. On paper, I don’t think it’s a huge deal since you’ll be able to repair at will if you stocked up, but there’s a big problem that toru pointed out:

This could be a critical problem for this new feature. If the entire inventory is loaded when opening up the repair screen, then instead of being a quick repair that takes one second where you remain well in control of your character, it’s a 10 second process where you’ll take even more damage because of this feature. The patch notes say it only shows damaged items, but how fast will that be?

I am still not a fan of Beast Defense and other similar stats being tied to vanity.

Have you fused them with other gems? I swear I’ve seen decimal stats, maybe in their description so it doesn’t show in the total?
