Ormolu might be my favourite boss

Or at least top 3 for now. He just combines what i like in boss fight, it looks like a big spectacle while also being mechanically consistent and easy to read and counter. There’s never really a moment where i feel like i don’t know what’s going on. The model looks fantastic, and the animations look good as well (apart from the transition stages where he just t poses). I’ve been catching up to full release on my juggernaut file and he’s been my favourite fight on the file so far. King Caesar and Jarl Ivar are still holding on to the top 2 right now but Ormolu is creeping up.

Here’s a clip of me beating him, generally trying to play close range:

He’s generally disliked due to the fact he can cause excessive lag when performing certain moves, oh and the fact you have to block and parry so much in a game NOT built around blocking and parrying.

Honestly ive never fought Ormolu properly without cheesing, but maybe ill give it a go and fight him as intended to see what its really like

He’s fun as hell trust me. If you have any lag issues reduce your graphics quality to 2, it keeps the fight looking good and high quality but still drastically increases fps. The clip i recorded was on 2 graphics. 10 graphics looks cooler though

If every build can block and parry, the game is built around it. Not every boss needs to be designed to be dealt with the same way. Caesar is more of a dodge boss because his arena is is more open and his attacks deal alot of damage which would punish you if you miss parries and ivar is pretty much the opposite being more parry based (though you can still dodge alot of his attacks). They both fit into the game despite being very different

luckily i have a good computer so i doubt ill experience any lag

Just because something can do something doesn’t mean it is built for it.
I’m able to run on all four limbs, but I’m not built for it, see the logic in that?

AO bosses were built with DPS and dodging in mind, blocking and parrying is something secondary.

ormolu is insanely cheesable, even after the cheese patch

Cool, cool, but that’s a fault of the arena design as opposed to the boss itself.

yeah i know

Him and caesar are the best bosses in the game for me, due to how you HAVE to play around with some of their attacks, with the option to dodge or parry (or occasionally both). Glad the sentinel talent shows you their locations, but ormolu should have a better and more noticable entrance so tbat noobs can find him easier. Also, nice job playing close range as you did, I can barely play that with metal 4vant.

mostly due to me LOVING piercing shot/flying slash lmao

Caesar is goated too fr, he fight just feel spectacular. Pve with juggernaut has been fun, next thing i’ll try is to beat the jarl with green hp lol

I love fighting this boss as well ik people like to cheese him but if you actually choose to fight him it’s a really good fight @Crimsonpants did a really good job with him

My son is loved.

I think hes pretty neat as a boss but as a curse user hes a complete fraud…

he’s goated

I really like him and love the design, but I think it’s a bit counterintuitive for a curse-user to be defeated by someone who isn’t even considered particularly strong in the story. I understand he went mad, but it’s a curse… curses are the ultimate power…

If I give a missile to a dog can it use it

Fair enough.
