I would not self-glaze this hard even if vetex directly responded to me :sob: :folded_hands:

No way someone actually used likes to defend their opinion in the internet

Honestly it has more likes than some of the replies in the thread, it probably means something.

Not tryna brag about likes anyway, I thought it was neat that Meta looked at it though.

We tried that, remember?

AO already sorta plays like a turn-based RPG lmao. Except at least in turn-based RPGs you expect there to be little to no movement. AO’s combat is like trying to be an action game and turn-based combat at the same time and it doesn’t go well.

adventure story my beloved

btw you didnt got banned by vetex in vetcord?

A fix for T jumps could be to make the first 33-50% of the charge be no higher than 3 jumps. but the remainder rapidly accelerates to the full length. Like a slow start until it ramps up.

I don’t know how long a T jump charge is, but let’s say… about 2 seconds.
First 0.5 to 0.75 seconds it slowly charges, but the remaining 1.25 seconds it picks up, and after 0.6 seconds (1.1 or 1.35 seconds using the given example) it catches up to where it’d be at that same point normally; it then auto adjusts and slows down.

So if you want an immediate answer, use the skill, but T jumps still exist as a possible tool for height.

The wait for full release has people grasping at straws

Maybe some unique mobility skills could be introduced with the skill tree planned? Assuming that’s still in the works, giving some classes unique skills would’ve been a better idea than outright removing or nerfing some things.

I suggested just before this to delay most of the T-Jumps benefits, but if the concern is zoning and large AOE skills. Then maybe with the skill tree it could be possible to use T as an alt-movement key instead of completely removing it. So T functions as a charging skill for a movement input:
T + Dash (direction based) = Dash w/ Boosted length
T + Jump = Traditional T jump
T + Shift + Dash (direction based) = Dash into sprint (+100% run speed? Gradually builds up to 100% (?), drains stamina fast while in combat; first +50% builds quicker than the second half)
T (While holding; Charge disabled while sprinting) + Sprint + Jump = Arcing T jump using sprint momentum
T (Press or let go) + Sprint = Deactivates sprint

So standard T jump is unlocked by default, but the alt ones are unlocked in other trees. These ones could be in a General tree where all classes can unlock them. Then later these T movements can be expanded upon by getting into the different stat builds. Like the T + Dash can be done mid-air for 1 air movement + requiring Reflex (uses that up too) towards a target your cursor is facing at for strength builds.

i agree, my friend spams this a lot, and its really annoying since i main berserker and half my moves become impossible to land, and high jump has kinda funneled all players into mage due to explosion pillar existing and not many other classes offering such a specific counter to high jumping

Oh my fuckin god we are cooked aren’t we :sob::sob:

so like how would ganking work lol. Like do i go up to a mf looking at marketplace, i run into them and it cuts to a pokemon battle transition

maybe not cooldown but tracer’s blink ability in overwatch stores three charges instead of just being “you can use the ability” or “it’s on cooldown”
maybe t-jumping could actually get a LOWER stamina cost but it ramps up harshly if you spam it
def should still be unlocked at the start, t-jump + blast is the bread and butter of mage class’s entire gameplay

u already get punished from spamming t jumps by it dealing damage to urself since t-jumps by itself already take out a good chunk of stamina + if u spam t jumps ur just gonna get punished easily
also mages use magic leap + blast + beam as their bread n butter combo
most people who have access to leaps and airstep dont bother using t jumps that much in combat even in pve becuz leap skills/spell is always better than t-jump

The damage from stamina is trivial and practically never happens, or even matters. Also, people absolutely use t jumps in combat, even on fighting and weapon oriented builds. In fact, I would say that combat and its mechanics in general are centralized around t jumps.
