Personality

  • A new feature called personality will act as the most unique attributes in the game that’s solely for PvE purposes rather than PvP. This section can be found as a small icon in the player menu at the left side of your build name.

  • You can invest points into each personality, not requiring you to lock in one path. Points however, can only be gained after each chapter of the story as to show progression through interaction. Each chapter will grant 5 points to invest into existing personalities.

  • For clarification, this does not include parts of the story and you can only gain personality points after completing the final part of the chapter.

  • Investing into personalities at certain points will grant you their traits with the final trait being at 100 which is worth 20 chapters. This however, does not mean that you cannot invest anymore into that personality.

  • While you aren’t locked in one path, you can only have one semi-final and final personality trait, meaning you can’t have both traits of slyness and cleverness at 75 and 100 points. The first personality to get 75 points upon distribution will determine your only semi-final and final traits.

  • Drinking an interchange potion will also give a prompt to reset personality.

  • For QoL, there’s a prompt to use 25 or 1 points to invest in personality and along with distribution confirmation.

List of Personalities and Their Traits

  • Slyness: Increases your stealth capabilities.
    – Each point decreases aggro range by 0.2% and combat tag duration by 0.05%.
    – At 25 points, holding “CTRL” will allow you to crouch which reduces aggro range by 20%.
    – At 50 points, your walking, running, climbing, ground dash, and high jump now becomes quieter.
    – At 75 points, gives you the ability to disguise by holding “E” on dead NPCs excluding bosses, allowing you to not aggro certain factions regardless of reputation unless you attack them. To undisguise, you can use the bath in any ships.
    – At 100 points, if you reach below 15% health, you’ll leave a cloud of smoke on where you got hit and immediately disguise as the faction that’s closest to you in 20 studs, removing all aggro on you unless you attack them again.

  • Cleverness: Increases your intellectual understanding.
    – Each point decreases all of your costs by 0.2%, this includes from shops, shipwright repair, hammer repair, armor upgrade, reputation reset, and galleon dropped on death.

    – At 50 points, you gain 10% more infamy from all sources.
    – At 75 points, galleons gained from killing NPCs are now doubled.
    – At 100 points, there’s a 25% chance to gain either an additional junk or exotic only item when opening normal and sealed chests.

  • Mindfulness: Increases your awareness of the surroundings.

End Note: For now, these are all the personalities with traits that I could think of in the current PvE situation of the game. More would perhaps be added if more content to PvE is added in the future.

I think this is a really good idea since it provides more like differentiation between each person and each attribute. Is there like a maximum amount of personalities you can invest points on? like how you get 2 stat points per level and is there also like a maximum amount you can invest in? like you can only invest in 2 or 3 personalities depending on how many there are

nvm im an idiot its all there

Well yes, good idea… but nope… having things like CTAG removal are direct changes to pvp. thou i’d like to see something like this with proper refining.

maybe one of them for recklessness could affect kingdom alignment (having it maxed would increase island status change from your tasks or something)

The ctag duration would only be decreased by a little bit not gonna lie. Just for a 5% reduction, you’d need 100 points which is equal to 20 chapters and that only amounts to 3 seconds out of a minute and 6 if you invest 200 or 40 chapters.

This is just so that people can regenerate out of combat a little bit faster when trying to fight bosses or npcs rather than waiting the full duration. Even if this were used in escaping pvp, only agility demons can benefit a little bit in this wherein they can already escape from you from the start.

Would probably be another personality, we just don’t have in-depth information on them right now :pensive:

nope, something else please.

They’re not really gonna be that much of a problem for pvp though but oh well…

This is very good but it does have some pvp effects.

Vetex should go full Disco Elysium

Yes pleaseeee we need more PVE content and this would be a really fun way of doing it.

I feel like personality traits should only be for immersion and character customisation purposes. For example, having a high “recklessness” stat will unlock new story dialogue options and “shyness” just makes your character shut up most of the time :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

Very cool idea, but like… why?

i feel like adding another stat build is starting to overcomplicate the game in my eyes. Also, it’s just more fitting for peronality traits to affect dialogue and kinda funny (shyness).

dont add this. 10% longer lasting notes are way too op :rage:

has PvP effects (mindfulness and cleverness)
otherwise, I like it

list of things that affect PvP

everyone specs into either cleverness or recklessness, just another system to minmax.

wait so getting a trait to 75 points = that trait can be either semi final or final?
or is there something im missing

how is this supposed to help
just longer duration?

so you highlight the chests by clicking on them or its a perma chest-only revealing?

why seperate them? just put them together

its called the thermometer gauge
