If you heal 300 per second and your blast deals 200, that doesn’t make it deal any less damage it’s just that the regen is higher than the damage you dealt (dealt means you lost HP).
can’t explain it any more easily than this, the only indirect buff is that it can kill you if you are really, really low HP

removing the dot is probably the most minor part of that, since youll reapply it by just attacking again and it takes a second to remove. blowing clouds away is the good part, but taking them over with fire or plasma is objectively better (and you specified that would stay anyway).
no i mean clearing it barely does anything since youll get hit either while or right after clearing.
the problem of poison is that the dot is way too long which makes all the hits during it feel wasted. if your opponent clears it, you still get to reapply it almost immediately
