Wow! That’s a really intricate mechanic. It would be really useful if Phighting actually went in-depth about it instead of keeping its explanation to a round-about concept.
Yeah tbh I would play fighting if I understood how to play the classes, it’s just too daunting so I just stick with hyperlaser
The Mermonkey is objectively more fun to use than the Buccaneer Monkey
not really, it’s a heavily overspecific explanation
what it pretty much is is:
on use, banhammer slams his hammer down by the bottom of his handle, command grabbing anyone in front of him, pulling them in front of banhammer and doing a bit of damage, whilst stunning them. Banhammer then does another, upwards swing, which deals additional damage, high knockback, and if the phighter’s healthpool is below 50%, instakills. If you manage to instakill someone, or have the phighters inside of your phinisher killed by teammates before you do so, you get to reuse it, up to 4 additional times.
even this is more complicated than it needs to be to be easily understood. Here’s a properly simple explanation that works fine:
Banhammer forces enemies in a general range in front of him, then swings at them. If they’re below half their max healthpool, he instakills them. If you do instakill, or they die beforehand, you can reuse it 4 more times.
Phighting’s skill descriptions are perfectly fine man I don’t care if your reading comp is at a grade 1 level they work and tell you what you need to know to understand what a skill does you don’t need to know that empowered dolphin slash deals 39 damage over 4 hits, or that skateboard’s Kick It! does 8 damage.
Yeah same here, I was team mermaid as well. Was kinda surprised they lost, thought they’d be more popular, oh well ^^"
Nothing will ever be more popular than PIRACY matie!
Yar har!
Alright fine, you win this time… >:[
Here is why pirates are so much cooler:
- They are associated with death
- They are associated with ghosts
- They are associated with adventure (blame romanticism)
- They are associated with travel
- They are associated with exploration
- They are associated with murder
- They have scurvy
Meanwhile, mermaids:
- Are also associated with death (in the original myth, not really as much today)
- Are associated with charm/attraction
- Are associated with singing
- Are associated with murder
- Are associated with traps/danger
- Don’t have scurvy and smell like fish

slingshot… erm… uhm…
Mermaids are one of my favorite fantasy ideas to work with in my world.
However pirates are so fun to work with for writing. I’m writing a poly romance between 3 people who work on a pirate ship in my fantasy world! (slightly inspired by a certain art post on these forums!)
JESUS CHRIST
stop yapping about how the game is “good” or “not good”, if you enjoy it, then play it, if you hate it, then don’t
simple, easy, clear. QUIT YAPPING BRO
I love phighting but it does have flaws, which might make it worse or might not change anything depending on the person, it’s literally just preferences. If you like the game, play it, if you don’t, don’t go hating on it, just say you don’t enjoy the gameplay and it’s not for you
it’s a fun game in my opinion, you might not think the same, and that’s alright, you don’t needa write multiple ESSAYS on why it’s bad though.
same with people defending the game, stop writing essays and spend that time enjoying yourself on it.
Ooh yeah I agree, I kinda did a twist on mermaids in my fantasy world (called Fantastical) where they are more like parasites, biting into other fish and then letting them go, then the fish becomes more and more infected with mermaid DNA until they fully turn into one
This surely won’t end with treachery and murder.
Small nitpick but you don’t “work” on a pirate ship, you’re either a buccaneer (not a form of employment) or a slave (not a form of employment).
Actually it’s a romance dealing with how they grow as people and make their own pirate crew after a shipwreck!
Also, I will steal your lungs.
