Post some Sea monster ideas here

We need a sea serpent (honestly started writing this before Shell posted)

Sea Serpent

Tier: Behemoth
Spawn: Spawns around a random large whirlpool, particularly ones near or inside the dark sea. Its existence is shown through its back frills showing above water as it slowly circles the whirlpool.
Drops: Commonly, sea serpent scales. Sell for galleons. Rarely, serpent eye. Sell for a lot of galleons.
Type: looks like a large, long blue serpent with green-and-blue-tinged frills around the ears, back, tail and… other places I forgot the names of. It has a pair of horns, too, I guess. I don’t have too many ideas about how it looks…
Abilities:

  • Idle: It continually circles a whirlpool slowly while not agro’d. Its agro range is small enough so that you can attack it first from a distance, but you can’t get close without provoking it.
  • Agro: Whenever it detects a nearby player or ship, it swims towards them quickly and, when within range, starts attacking with an attack that brings its head out of the water. The first time it arcs out of the water for an attack, it roars to indicate that it is agro’d.
  • Despawn: It swims deep into the water and despawns. It respawns in its idle circle around a random other whirlpool meeting the criteria.
  • Tail attack: It spins and attacks a ship or player with its tail. It does a moderate amount of damage to a ship but can launch players that are swimming and hit.
  • Bite: It just bites with its teeth. It can do it without arcing out of the water if a player is in the water (it inflicts bleeding and does a lot of damage), or it can do it while arcing out of the water and attack players on ships (it inflicts bleeding and does moderate damage).
  • Water Blast: It arcs out of the water (if it is too close to a ship, it moves back slightly) and spits a large blast of water at a ship or player. It is similar to a strong-and-large version of a player’s water blast and inflicts soaked. If it needs to be buffed, it is also hot water.
  • Water Stream: It is similar to a player’s beam and its water blast attack. But, it is faster and inflicts a constant stream of damage for a few seconds.
  • Wave: It moves backwards, roars and arcs out of the water at a distance away from its target. After a couple of seconds, it spins and creates a large wave using its tail.
  • Spiral: It roars and quickly spins around its target, creating a temporary whirlpool after several seconds directly on its target. Once it starts doing this, it’s target does not change until it ends.

Chaos

Tier: Damn well past Apollyon (you’re going to die lol)
Spawn condition: get very very lucky/unlucky depending on how you look at it.
Chance starts at 0% but very slowly increases based on how much destruction (chaos) has occurred in the map.
Cannot spawn in the dark seas because that’d just be stupid.
Abilities: It would be either 100% invisible and impossible to detect until you get close or very very obvious, and regardless if you do then you fucking die.
Drops: A cosmetic reward (and title probably) you get upon it killing you because it’d be that rare.
It would vanish immediately after obliterating the first player or player ship that crashes into it.

I mean sure, chaos always shows up during world altering apocalyptic events, but if a bunch of high level wizards went around blowing up everything they might just might get its attention.

john cena pls

Honestly, it could work like an event when too much destruction had occurred. Like “Chaos has appeared” or something. And then chaos spawns but also the seas and skies around it become a different hue and the seas are always rough. Could also put server-wide higher sea monster spawn rates and npc lines, the former being similar to a weaker dw hell mode.

Hell, you could use it as the insanity 5 barrier in the dark seas

we should get a shark furry that actually does like no damage and has 100 hp

Cool I’m out of likes for 20 minutes but I like the whirlpool sea serpent. It could be the cause of them perhaps.

that edgy thing has way too little hp in my opinion for it’s skills, I would also say abyssal

How much is enough hp?
nvm

enough so it can take 10 cannonballs at LEAST
and probably not be one shot at level 500

ok.
