Currently there is a very prevalent trend in how weapons work. Either TP, Some sort of big slam or AoE move and a grab. That really are the only moves we see. So why not add some more to shake things up? Here is all of my ideas. (Models and animations made by me, u can probably tell that).
Bronze Scissor
Historically, these weapons were used primarily by Roman Gladiators for defense and melee purposes. So that is what I intend to do with them. I love the idea of defense weapons so yeah I’m kind of taking this and running.
Q - Uproar | Stand your ground and block any incoming projectiles, temporarily increasing your damage resistance based on how many projectiles you blocked (Imagine Zarya shield in Overwatch, but in AO. Hit scans can still hit you, so, good luck with that.)
-Startup Time- .75 seconds
-Endlag- .2 seconds
E - X-Cut | Leap forward (scaled on agil) and make an X-Slash shape in the air that blocks incoming projectiles and damages nearby enemies, knocking them back.
Khopesh
The Khopesh is an Ancient Egyptian weapon that is shaped like a sickle for the purposes of using it as a sword.
Q - Disarm | Short ranged grab that temporarily locks an opponent out of using one of their weapons (Like resetting their cooldowns on that weapon’s moves.)
E - Gaze | Track your opponent’s movements and appear behind them after 3 seconds.
Magsith
This is my own personal submission for a weapon. Two karambits sawdered to magnets in the center. These are dual wielded and follow along the defensive theme.
Q - Boomerang | Throw your magsiths towards an enemy and have them return to you via the magnets on your hands, dealing dmg on imapact.
E - Shockwave | Press the magsiths to the ground to create a shockwave in front of you that tears up the ground, deals damage and knocks enemies back.
If this gets good feedback, I would be more than happy to model it and make animations for all of these.
