Potential retcon/system rework

so i was scrolling through the wiki and went onto the ship page. I noticed at the bottom there was a formula for how ship tiers are calculated along with all of the ship tiers confirmed by vetex:


the problem is, there are 10 tiers of ships,
level 0-90 is tier 1 which provides no title
level 90-190 is tier 2 which is reinforced
level 190-290 is tier 3 which is fortified
level 290-390 is tier 4 which is heavy
level 390-490 is tier 5 which is armored
level 490-590 is tier 6 (which would be the current planned max level) is only heavily armored
level 590-690 is tier 7 which is greatly armored
level 690-790 is tier 8 which is majorly armored
level 790-890 is tier 9 which is infamous
and finally, level 890-990 is tier 10 which is historical

obviously this formula was made when max level was still planned to be 1000, but now its 600 which is the issue

because of how the formula works all it needs is to be changed from dividing by a thousand to dividing by 600, but this would change the tiers
reinforced hulls would be level 70+ now, fortified level 130 (which would be the ones we currently have from nimbus), heavy level 190, armored level 250, heavily armored level 310, greatly armored level 370, majorly armored level 430 infamous level 490, and historical level 550

so we should have fortified tier ships right now, but we dont because vetex probably forgot about this feature

either yes vetex did forget about it OR he just cut everything in half so historical would be 600, and this is just speculation but i think dragon blood ritual might give you the option to increase your level

Pretty much it still makes sense, the level of available hulls right now are at 130 which is within the range of reinforced.

Titles would only depend on where the max level would completely stop at, I don’t know where you got the idea that 600 would be the cap since I remember Vetex repeatedly kept stating in patreon chat that the cap would be where the story eventually ends. Until then, I suppose Vetex would keep the current level ranges for ship titles.

I think the highest ship tier we can find in the game is Majorly Armored Atlantean Brig (Insanity 5 dark sea from nimbus sea)


i always thought it would be something like a stat increase in terms of speed or power, but if it increases actual class stats ig that would make more sense.

i think its what youre thinking, just like a very small buff to speed/power/size/defense

the screenshot is vetex telling us the formula and all of the ship tiers, we don’t have actual access to insanity 5 yet (youre supposed to die there but you dont cause of a bug, its unfinished) which is likely why we cant find infamous/historic atlantean vessels

Ah yeah I remember now, though that’s pretty much outdated information since Vetex says otherwise in patreon chat recently. He most likely thought that giving an estimation in public might limit the possible level cap, similar to how he took back his own words regarding bi-weekly updates since it limits possible content included in the update.

To be honest you could ask a tester to see if Vetex still thinks that way considering yeah, ship titles would be scaled around the level cap.

Player ship titles are based on health I think. What I am sure about is newer hulls will give higher titles.

It based on the lvl of ship armor hull

For example: Lvl 90 or higher is Reinforced Tier

Hey so this is pretty sure unrelated but I think Fortified Tier for ship armor hull is lvl 150 or higher

I think infamous and historic will be exclusive to boss ships

I think Infamous and Historical Tier Armor ship hull should only be obtainable from Defeated Legendary Ship
