1. Why are we forced to wait for potions in order to reset stats? Why not just have a temporary method of reseting your stats and awakening? If I want to try out a new build, then I have to make a completely new file and redo the storyline, which will take 10+ hours to make and refine.
Why are we forced to make a new file if we want to change our primary magic? Why aren’t we able to change it?
So you’re telling me that later when the level cap is 300 — I might have to spend 30+ hours to make a new file, completely redo the storyline, level up that character, simply because I wanted to try a out new build or magic?
Am I a fucking machine or something?
2. Storyline should not have level caps, highly experienced gamers will understand this.
Also level progression is so many times cancer.
true story
Oh wow, a level cap before I get to Ravenna storyline. Shouldn’t be too hard right?
I’m going to try fishing, oh wait, after 30 minutes for some reason I’m not getting exp.
Oh well, I’ll try to complete some quests. It’ll take a while because I can only do one quest at time, because I can’t abandon my Redwake quests.
No quests available yet at Sailor’s Lodge. Fuck… the most exp is from Palo Town Banana Merchant, oh well…
For fucks sake, there aren’t enough bananas on the island and I have to wait for more to spawn. Nevermind that, instead i’ll find castaways and trade cargo.
Oh fuck, I barely have enough money for 3 crates. Atleast I’ll be able to save some castaways…
Not a single castaway for 10 minutes, oh well I’ll just turn in these crates…
Rough seas spawns directly on top of me, my boat sinks.
I haven’t leveled up ONCE in 1 hour.
3. Fast travel and Permanent Spawns — atleast between towns and kingdoms, like Cirrus Island…
No this won’t defeat the purpose of boats.
Name a single person who hasn’t wasted an total of 1 hour just trying to get to some place. No, I don’t give a shit about hunting pirates and collecting/trade cargo — I just want to get to fucking Redwake to finish a quest, because I can’t fucking delete it.
4. Boss droprates…
Atleast have a guaranteed drop the first time you kill a boss.
Nearly everyone I’ve been around was complaining about droprates, then someone from the opposite side says 1/7 chance get good. Truth is, many people are having a horrible experience getting the gear they want — sometimes killing a boss 30 times, but not a single drop.
Yeah go ahead, tell that person it’ll only take 10 minutes to get atleast 1 drop. You probably already have all the gear you need because you went no-life on AO — even worse, whenever a poor player complains about droprates, the people who’ve already no-lifed boss gear all experience a collective orgasm because having a rare virtual item over others was enough justify “1/10 chance, you’re just malding.”
5. Quests. Why am I not allowed to abandom my quests, I have 4 quests all the way at Redwake, and you’re telling me I have to spend 30 minutes just to clear out these shitty quests?
6. Enchanting. So you’re telling me that I have to spend hours wasting 5k galleons trying to get the enchant that I want? Oh wait there’s another option, but I also have to spend hours trying to get that particular enchant scroll, or just maybe never get it at all.
7. Oh boy I can finally get over 20+ fps today.
Its so fun whenever an explosion spell permanently reduces your fps by -5.
Regarding visual effects of weapon/magic abilities. It would help if the visuals of magics were changed to be less laggy. ROBLOX servers are already bad enough, I don’t need another 5 seconds added to my input lag.
8. PvE.
I’ve tried reacting and predicting. Very rarely you have a clean fight against an NPC. Due to factors like ping, buggy no cooldown NPCs, etc.
Many times whenever you use a spell against a powerful NPC you’re praying that NPC won’t use an attack that takes out 50% of your health.
A significant part to defeating powerful NPCs and bosses is the stat checking. There isn’t much rhythm to PvE most of the time, just an orgy of death.
TDLR: Many times AO just pointlessly wastes your time. There are a good number of unnecesssarily tedious things, at this point I don’t really bother anymore.
I can’t play 4+ hours like I used to, it feels like the game almost requires you to spend 2+ hours to make any decent progress.
At this point its obvious AO isn’t something to play casually. This being the case, I don’t have much reason to be playing this game. I still like this game a lot however.
6 of these can easily be dealt with, but if that doesn’t happen, so be it, I can always move on to other things.
Final Edit: I’ve completely supported AO from the beginning, and still want whats best for the game. This is also the last game I’ve ever planned on playing, and I merely wanted to see what the game was like before decided to quit games for good.
Due to my experiences within the game itself, and by observing some of the toxic feedback of the game’s community members themselves — I’ve ultimately decided completely cut myself off from AO.
Of course some of you will be happy to hear this, because obviously many of you are petty. I know since I’ve been there and done that myself.
Anyways, good luck everyone and good bye.
