Problems with AO

I completed all easy exploration tasks on all islands previously except Ravenna, Akursis and Mount Othyrus

I assume itā€™s because itā€™ll end up like the first time I got a treasure chart on frostmill:

ā€œOh cool a treasure chart- where the hell is Shell Island?ā€

would be lame if you had unlimited stat resets for free at any level under the pretext that potions arent out yet. also it stops metamancers
i kinda agree with the changing magic thing tho, even if realistically you have no reason to change it unless you got bored of the theme as they are all extremely similar. its a bit unfair that you get to change your fighting style and weapons with almost no cost if any but magic is permanent

you donā€™t give any reason to justify that. all the true story does is point out issues with levelling up (which is what you should be suggesting changes for), which clearly wouldnt be fixed by removing the minimum required level between story parts
would just lead to more people getting stuck at bosses

so ive heard you cant abandon non repeatable quests since they change the world or something like that, but thatd be nice for repeatable ones

eh enchanting prices are pretty good right now. disenchanting is the issue tho, i dont think it needs to be nearly as expensive. could be the same as enchanting and i dont think there would be issues, at the end of the day youll still need to pay twice if you want to reroll the enchant (still giving a reason to get an item multiple times)

I agree stats should be reset at some cost, however you never know when potions are going to come out. And why does it have to be potions?

Also I donā€™t understand the whole point of ā€œstoppingā€ metamancers, just a pointless thing to be a concerned about.

This is understandable, and there are many factors like messy PvE mechanics preventing players from beating bosses, being undergeared, ping issues, etc.

A simple solution is, make it so they donā€™t get stuck at bosses. We already get exp from damaging enemies, if players canā€™t beat the boss then give them an aid, like a huge-load of experience. Hitting one blast gives 10% exp to their current level, or everytime you fail to beat a boss for storyline you get an extra level.

Defeating bosses in this game is a mix of stat-checking and skill, there have already been a lot of players that meet the level requirements but still get stuck on the boss because they are undergeared. Atleast when level gain is increased, players will have a better chance stat-checking bosses.

Ever got unlucky? Personally I donā€™t understand the need for RNG in enchanting. Has there ever been anyone who thought of RNG in enchanting and thought: ā€œOH BOY, WHAT A GREAT FEATURE THIS IS.ā€

This is a fucking mmo, you grind thatā€™s what theyā€™re about. It just so happens this one has engaging systems built around it

You are actually brain dead for suggesting fast travel it takes like 10 minutes tops to sail from one end of the sea to the other, and thatā€™s with my mediocre or even below average ship.

You failed to understand how these systems grant xp or even really recognize the best sources of it

20-40 was never the issue
it was always the 83-93
and it still is because cargo is boring and ship combat is ass until level 90

mfw i did ship combat at like level 70 or smth

my rams and hull are just too strong ig ill try to get weaker ones
but just cannons are unbearable
especially with no hull making your ship squishy af

This whole posts screams ā€œI want Vetex to hold my hand and maybe give it a little kiss too uwuā€. Itā€™s an mmo, you arenā€™t supposed to be able to do thing first try. You arenā€™t supposed to beat a boss first try. You arenā€™t supposed to pick your favorite magic or stat build first time. And you almost certainly arenā€™t supposed to be a master of the game your first time playing. You keep getting lost? Learn how the compass and map works. You think it takes too long to get place to place? Upgrade your boat before you start travelling again. Iā€™ve beaten AO on multiple files, it has its problems but most of your post was just ranting about stupid shit, the only real good points you brought up was the performance and not being able to cancel quests. The game isnā€™t always supposed to be fun, thatā€™s basic game design. Itā€™s fun because you do difficult things to get things you want. If boss drops reliably dropped within 10 boss kills then it wouldnā€™t take very long to get all the rare items in the game now would it. This post gave me an aneurysm

imo vetex should never have nerfed the dueling mage or buff exploration tasks because HOLY is 83-93 boring as hell now

also the idea is that when you feel you are underleveld you go away and do quests and stuff and then come back. orrrrr you keep trying, learn the patterns and such until you beat them. it would feel so goddamn boring if i would just get level boosted all the time.
