this is complete immunity from ridiculously unfair fights.

Why should a level 50 at the sky islands need to deal with a level 125 player’s bullshit?
No matter how skilled that level 50 player is, they’re going to get stomped.
how the hell are lower leveled players beyond the thresholds set by this suggestion supposed to bounty hunt higher level players lol.
how is level 50 players being spawnkilled by level 125s with no chance what so ever not a problem because of something that might happen in a year or two.
that argument is absurd.
if anything, as updates continue, the problem will only get WORSE because the gap in power between these low levels and high levels will only get bigger with time and updates.
It’ll start happening in like at most 4 months, when rivals become available in the nimbus sea. It’s also not a good argument to say that it’ll get worse because of players getting stronger, since a level gap of 15-20
at this point is already a guaranteed win
These are great suggestions, they solve pretty much every issue with the pvp requirements.
The only issue I see is that they may be a bit difficult to add.
I do not see the problem with any of the global immunities mentioned in this suggestion:
1: Story quest areas should be places where players are completing story objectives without needing to worry about random bored minmaxed assholes.
2: Getting hunted sucks. Getting spawn hunted sucks more.
3: Getting hunted sucks. Having a hunter that won’t leave you the fuck alone even after getting killed sucks more.
4: Ending up back at Ravenna after dying is tedious enough on its own, people camping spawn locations out of boredom shouldn’t be able to.
5: Same as 4.
6: Why are players allowed to jump you immediately when you join the server in the first place? Why is this a problem? Why should I need to be worried some random asshole is going to jump me the second I spawn after joining before I can even load in or do anything?
It isn’t like this suggestion is a global pvp toggle, far from it.
Its letting players have time to breathe and not need to be part of PvP during the main story.
and for point 6, theres already going to be a radial tag cooldown in the next update for fresh server joins so you have the option to leave after checking the player list
Yeah I unfortunately have to second this. Even when PvP players are a smaller portion, they’re usually very…vocal in getting their way. For me, some of these situational PvP things would be great (granted, I’d prefer if we could just make it completely optional, as to keep a PvE friendly game) and simply just having them would improve the PvE experience.
My point is that the only people this stops are complete assholes that shouldn’t be doing what they’re doing in the first place since they have little to nothing to gain from it and it actively makes the experience worse for the person they’re fighting.
I made a side note about the seas having a combat level of about 100, which means that pvp on the open sea is probably the most open under this suggestion
sea combat should probably have a combat level of 50 as the game is now though, and then once you’ve gotten far enough through all seas will have a combat level of 100 for you
the dark sea would have an even higher combat level because player interaction outside of the groups sailing together would be fewer and farther between
the complete pvp immunity cases I brought up won’t affect 99% of pvp cases that aren’t caused by sweats or people who want to ruin someone’s day, although I do admit the times given are probably somewhat generous
i’ve seen people talking about getting farmed when they have less than 10k renown already at the current moment, even if less people will be doing it overall the few people who are doing it likely still will- also, any values I suggest are only suggestions and can be tweaked and adjusted as needed if they make it into the game
it also doesn’t take into account the people who would specifically go out of their way to kill anyone and everyone they come across for absolutely no reason/to bolster their player kill stat
the bounty hunt cooldowns that are in the game right now only apply if someone being hunted successfully fends off their attacker, meaning there is no protection against people being farmed constantly, and if it’s that big of an issue you can just make it so that you can’t gain renown from someone if they have the protection which would disincentivize some (but not all) people from attacking you while you have protection
i don’t think it’s an emotional ramble, but if it is an emotional ramble you should have no trouble refuting it, right?
this is why I’ve added the poll, so that the pve folks who don’t feel comfortable coming up and making a comment on this post can still put in their vote anonymously
as has been proven with my previous forum post about the pve community (which I have linked in a comment above) the poll tends to work- and that post even got the moderators to take note and make a feedback post 2.5 relating specifically to the casual experience
this is exactly why I made this post, to help the people who are commonly victimized by the people like this
looking at the comments to this post I hope this doesn’t end up going the way of my previous forum post about asking for opinions on casual players (which I have linked in a comment and will go and edit into the main post if you want to read it)

just in general, I don’t mind having reasonable discussions about all the things I’ve brought up- my issue is mainly with the people who go straight to insults or threats or posts about deleting accounts or something
