Pvp tips for mage

Gimme ur best tips, I gotta become a PVP master within 5 hours of practice. (I practiced for like 2 hours total lol)

Train with 70% size
Attack speed must be higher than 75
Don’t go over the sea if your magic dissolves in it
Snare doesn’t work when the opponent is also using a grab move (Like rushdown)
Snare doesn’t work if the opponent’s HP turns white
Snare doesn’t work fi the opponent is blocking
Use attack speed aura
Placed explo should only be used to finish
Your second magic should complement the first (no duh)

Be reactive. When the opponent makes a move, try hitting them
When the opponent is at least 33% of the arena away from you, use beams (Double for damage, single for speed)
Practice. Aim will get better over time

If you want more tips, just ask me! I’ve played mage for 360 hours, please help.

Oh! And for the memes.

Block, parry, dodge.

What magic do u use

I dont use meta magics. If you really wanna go meta, go shadow.

Im using fire + ash right now, though its terrible I enjoy it because its cool

How many pks do you have?

Don’t remember 100%, but I do know its around 850

General tips for mages that are a must:

  1. Just aim well, your blast shapes should buff speed as it makes predicting, air-shots and general aiming more easier, other shapes that boosts other stats are redundant unless you have a gimmick.

  2. Positioning, don’t cast a blast spell on ground you’ll just mess it up, being far away and on the being on the right position (mid-air for example) allows you to make use of your spells more efficiently and effectively.

  3. Overwhelming, some people completely ignore this but mage is devastating at obscuring vision and disrupting terrains making your enemy struggle where to aim that is if you use your spells consecutively in the right time, don’t just spam you’ll get punished for it.

  4. Blasts should be your only main DPS (for now, maybe there will be better blasts in the future)

Other tips are very specific and you’ll probably notice it the more you play mage anyway.

  1. use drill
  2. learn how to hit air shots
  3. abuse pulsar
  4. dont use placed explosion unless for finisher
  5. self ult art
  6. jump before you cast
  7. make sure one of your spells is. 5x jump so you can use a 1x jump then 4 of the 5x jump (usually on 2nd magic)
  8. use dual beams (they are just better)
  9. only use beam or placed explosion of 2nd magic
  10. run high atk speed
  11. run agility (40+ recommended)
  12. never use multiblasts :100:
  13. stay away from your opponent
  14. dont spam 2nd magic
  15. dont airstall
  16. use self pillar for punishing ig
  17. single hit snare
  18. abuse snare as its pretty good if it lands (if it misses BLOCK PARRY DODGE)
  19. but dont spam snare
  20. keep your camera facing the enemy
  21. keep your cursor close to the center of the screen
  22. when htting air shots, move your camera so its facing them directly
  23. predict when using blasts

ok thats all i have

i have 0 attack speed
i use 50% size placed explosions (main attack)
i use power aura
i use double beam for both magics

(magma/acid mage btw)

spells:

magma:
Q: 1x high jump
E: ult art 90% size spikeball shockwave self explosion
R: blast (x slash or drill i forgot which shape i used)
F: 60% size spikeball shockwave placed explosion
V: 0.5 tick 130% size pulsar
C: 80%(?) size spikeball shockwave self explosion
X: double beam 50% size
Z: power aura

acid:
Q: 2x high jump
E: double beam 50% size
R: double blast
F: 100% size pillar placed explosion
V: 100% size sphere placed explosion
C: 100% size pillar self explosion
X: 100% size sphere self explosion
Z: 5x high jump

Also a mage player here, but I use wind-snow.
If wind is meta, I picked it just because it fits my mage’s imagined personality.

I always ran 80% at minimum because I thought that was the bare minimum. And when I lose fights I made It bigger, but I shrunk it if I lost.

I always thought 62+ was too much. My build gives 74 at most.

Pretty safe from these ones.

Definitely not reactive.

I’ve tried punishing piercing strikes with snare but this happens when I try that.
Guess it’s just grab immunity.

I can literally never ever hit beams. I like single for the speed and free little damage they give you.

Alr, ty all of you, too many messages to respond to, but I read them all.

Mage is mostly about getting fast speeds. Dont use ULT art btw, it doesn’t work very well (Too much cast time, too much endlag)

The damage bonus from going smaller isnt worth it very often.
Training with 70% size barely squeeks out a +10%, its prob more like +7%.

I use faster, and I recommend faster because it makes your shots easier to hit. Ignore attack size unless your metal or magma.

I kinda meant it like, react to your opponents move rather then instigating your own moves. 9 times out of 10, that blast you instigated will miss and the opponent will musket you.

Thats why I said “Snare doesn’t work when the opponent is also using a grab move (Like rushdown)”. This applies to piercing strikes. I learnt this the hard way.

Beam’s “beam size” is about the size of a musket’s M1. Use it on the ground, beam has shockingly high AOE

use drill and abuse beams and specially pulsar if you have a magic that buffs itself like glass, trust me im a glass mage with 2k pks in 100 hours

Alr, ty. I use fire magic, pretty sure it stacks on itself.

It does

Yeah, thanks for confirming.

If your blasts or Pulsars are rather large (noticable if their Magic Circles clip into the ground), odds are they’ll explode on launch, wasting them.
