Okay so you’re level 50 right? You’re just having fun playing the game, and all of a sudden this level 300 guy runs up to you and kills you.
Is that what is in store for the future of this game? Or is the pvp minimum going to continually get higher? Are different seas going to have different minimums?
Idk if anyone has the answer, so if you dont have the answer, discuss what would be the best idea to counteract the situation above from happening.
reduce fame or bounty when killing players more than 10% beneath your level. Say your lvl 150. You’d lose fame and bounty hunting and killing lvl 135s or lower.
This is of course different for hunting npcs and no rules or regulations are applied.
well that’d be very weird.
imagine getting locked out of PvP until you’re level 325 because the level cap is currently level 400.
I’d rather just not let players attack players 10 levels below them unless the weaker player attacks first or does something to indicate they actually want this fight.
10% below them. it will allow higher levels to still fight lower levels when in the late game it’ll be difficult to find a lot of people equal to you in level.
Punish players who hunt low-levels by reducing their fame/bounty by 5-25% depending on repeated huntings.
Each sea will have their own respective PvP levels, Bronze Sea being 50 and Nimbus Sea being 150-175 and so on.
An announcement will be made when a very high level player enters a low level sea, denouncing their strength and revealing their location. (This only applies if a 3rd sea guy enters the 1st sea and wont apply to 2nd sea power leveled players)
Low level players who somehow got killed by high level players will not lose their galleons or be punished anyway whatsoever (needs fixing, it might get abused)
Honestly its really not that big of problem man, I say it’s actually a cool feature in the game, and ik that sounds bizarre but this is a an apocalyptic/pirate world so people trying to kill weaker low level people just brings forth people who want to help low levels. I recruited half my clan by protecting low levels and helping them farm cargo. I don’t think pvp should have restrictions on it. It’s supposed to be a challenging game where collaborating with other players is a viable option, the strong are capable of being on their own, but even they need help too. Think about it isn’t better and more immersive if people are trying to fight back against the toxicity together . I made lots of friends collaborating running into people, protecting people from getting hunted the game is much more fun when you’re collaborating with others
The learning curve to AO is difficult, but anybody who’s put the time into getting to know people and trying to learn the in’s and outs of the game know that it’s well worth the time and a pretty fun experience. The danger of being attacked by a stronger player adds to the experience plus it’s funny when low levels beat trash maxed out files
Although I will say maybe ppl who are in a different sea cluster shouldn’t have the capabilities to fight lower levels. For people who advance to nimbus can’t fight people who are still in the bronze sea. Because that’s just way overkill… idk thoe we’ll see what Vetex does
if there’s not a good difference with ONE HUNDRED levels then that’s quite dogshit, unless vetex makes levelling up faster. which at that point vetex can just lower the level cap
I really hope they make it so you have to be within a certain range of someone’s level, both above AND below, to be able to fight them. I think as the level cap increases, that’ll definitely have more of a chance occurring. But if it remains the way it is right now, I can see the game becoming very similar to blox fruits for people in that regard.
