Question about the Order

We acting as if Carina still alive.

To be honest in my run Elius is dead.

This is an AU with all of the Order in one spot

Oh.

I headcanon that Silas saves her if they’re merciful.

Who is Silas?

Vetex’s name for the MC

Srsly out of all names, Silas? Are we being deadass?

Yep that’s the official name for the main character of Arcane Odyssey. I don’t mind honestly I think it’s a good name.

Also, do yall think Wotan is the actual leader of the Order since he’s supposed to be the stand-in for Odin?

Personally, I would have liked a Greek name

Nope, he’s been confirmed by Vetex to have zero ties to the Order.

Wait actually?

I would think since Odin (in Norse mythology) is searching for absolute magic knowledge through magic he would be the boss of the Order of Aesir.

Also fun fact Wotan’s name is anachronistic. As the name Wotan first appeared in Richard Wagner’s 1869 opera “Der Ring des Nibelungen.” Wotan who is stated to be born pre-fracturing proceeds the inception of his name by more than a millenia.

No that’s Agamemnon

They probably have a ton of magical research that the Order wants

Also, the Order’s motives for killing Allanon and his gf I forgot the name of might have something to do with them possibly wanting Skyhall to stay out of the Sameria/Keraxe war for some reason (this is never stated anywhere, I’m just theorizing that), likely because the Order could have something to gain from Keraxe invading Sameria

Unrelated but morden saying that something feels off about General Akeem in Chapter 9 seems like Vetex is setting Akeem up to be a twist villain later

Fair point, but if they wanted to do that they could have also just faked an attack by sea dwellers. Which would actually lionize their isolationist tendencies even more, allowing the Order to further seep their influence into the nation.

By that I mean keep Skyhall out of the war.

Magic, relatively rare resources, a lot of books, air superiority. Even then, better to have them under their thumb than not. And on the more impractical side, they could have a big sky fortress, or drop sky islands on people they don’t like.

Because going for both of them would be more difficult and more obvious that it is a power play and not a sea beef, and Zenith’s deteriorating and not as ambitious as Allanon, who wants to make connections with the seafarers and shake things up - not good for the people pulling the strings. Zenith doesn’t need to be killed, he’s dying just fine on his own.

As for the attack, I think it was meant to go after Allanon primarily, with Liara being a loose end. As for Lucian being the triggerman, that could have been a calculated move to set off Allanon so he’d go off the deep end and get himself thrown off the deep end, especially with playing up the anti-seafarer angle. The Order using that poison in the past would have just been a bit of trivia if we weren’t there, and they were disguised as the Forsaken, an assassin organization in the Nimbus Wilds. Worst case scenario, Allanon breaks the chains and the Order has to take advantage of the chaos, with the leftover family (which I think the Queen is Order-aligned) being well placed to do so, saving the people from the folly of the Prince, and directing the scholars to safeguard against hostile seafarers - in whatever way the Order deems most useful. Matter of fact, that could be an in for Order researchers to take root. Even then, the chains breaking is a long shot, Allanon isn’t that big of a deal, and Skyhall’s forces could probably contain the threat. Might even get rid of the King early if they’re lucky.

Getting control of power and resources seems like it’d be a good idea.

I imagine Calvus would have gotten into some serious trouble from the Order if he had survived. Letting the Death Curse slip away in the hands of some runaway test subjects that know your organization exists? Congratulations on your demotion to Baron, good thing there’s an opening.
