Rant about Suncry's "Morals and ethics"

image
Suncry says that they’re a “light” guild that establishes order, however, they have the highest infamy (understandble-ish as RKs and PKs are the only way to increase.

But, this would only justify a mere fraction of what they’re actually doing. Doing some digging through Suncry, I’ve noticed that, It’s not a Light guild, nor a “peace” keeping guild, but rather, a proganda filled regime of people that use hypocrisy, lies and deceit to get what they want.

Context for the point below (can’t place the youtube video or channel down below for some reason, and also the video is just an image of what the video is)

Suncry's Hypocrisy

In one of Suncry’s guild master’s videos, he states “How can we certify peace, if we kill any stranger on the spot? I say, it is not only a necessary measure with our goal in mind”
image
image at 3:26, this speech begins.
Below is a proof of Suncry’s well-known hypocrisy of “we only all join a server for a special event” but in reality, do so to farm infamy, gank and RK others

Their questionable motive to establish "order"

Suncry has been far, one of the most biggest RK and PK guild, with regardless of anyone’s rep, will kill you, for everyone they see is just infamy fodder

An image of Suncry’s infamy farming group
image
However, when the update had come out, Rayco Anchor had suddenly lost his rep to Neutral (+50) assumably to infamy farm both GOOD and BAD people
image
This leaves us with Suncry isn’t what they seem to be (like most other guilds with “peace”, “order”, “justice” or “protect the weak”)

TL;DR: Suncry’s motive is as of now misleading due to the removal of light/neutral/dark guilds
Thank you for coming to my ted-talk

Edits (mainly me misunderstanding things)

Edit 1: Changed “TL;DR: Suncry’s motive is actually really sketchy and ridden with hypocrisy.” to TL;DR: Suncry’s motive is as of now misleading due to the removal of light/neutral/dark guilds

This is why I like Dark Guilds. No hypocrisy there, there just assholes.

You do have a point there

Yeah, Sun Cry KOS anyone they see, that’s a fact.

Aight, let me interject here a bit.

Firstly, I am the person that made and performed the speech that you referenced: you only show a part of what I said in regards to this. The “necessary measure” part references the fact that killing people for infamy is the only way to gain it at this moment. “With our goal in mind”, and by our goal, I meant the fact that we want to be and stay as the No.1 Guild in World of Magic, which can only be achieved by having the most infamy for now. Therefore, that entire sentence summarizes the fact that we are doing what we’re doing because it is our collective goal, but also because there’s no other way to achieve it at this moment.

Now that I got my speech in front of me, let me continue on with the relevant bits I say after this: I say that it is not only a necessary measure with our goal in mind, but that one way to ensure peace is to destroy any kind of disruptive element that might threaten it. Not that this is our end goal, but there’s very little hypocrisy in our declared goal either way.

Here, I explicitly say that our end goal is not to exterminate all life in Magius, but that if you look at it from a certain angle, “ensuring peace” can be done in a way very similar to what we’re doing now. Therefore, I don’t think there’s much hypocrisy here. Feel free to explain why do you think that’s the case, but what we do right now are the means, not the ends.

Another point that I’d like to bring up is that we’re no longer a Light guild: this was done away with following the time when it has been announced that Light/Dark Guilds won’t be distinguished in-game gameplay-wise. So from that point on, we’ve been “Neutral”, as that suits us much better, since we aren’t constrained by Light/Dark RP morality.

Yes, that is understandable, however, (not confirmed yet, do take with a grain of salt) alt farming and simply farming your guild members isn’t a just way for gaining infamy.
But, the problem is that you’re ganking on people that’re both low (unexplainable) and high (understandable), and afterwards, being a salty winner and saying “I beat noobs” after RKing, provoking and ganking on them

This makes sense, however, your guild description does mislead that point of not being a light Guild anymore
If possible, ask your leader or co-leaders to change the description (though I don’t know if that’s implemented in the game as of now)

Aye, I won’t refute that we have some people who really aren’t mature enough to understand us when we say “try to not be salty in-game, just because you beat someone/died.” It’s not very easy to keep track of 200 people running around 24/7, that’s the reality of things.

But, as a general rule,we do not encourage members to act like man-children. I just want to get that across.

This has been a topic of discussion with the HRs recently, so we might make changes there in the near future. Some people pointed out that it is misleading, which I somewhat agree with.

Ah I see, I just get unlucky and meet the slightly immature guild members in the Suncry guild, thanks for clearing that up :+1:

Either way, I won’t refute that we’ve not been a positive influence on the game as a Guild recently. While I’m sure that almost all other Guilds do the exact same as us, we’re the most visible, and it really shows. Hopefully, there will be more ways of gaining infamy in the future, but as it stands, we’re simply doing what we have to do if we want to stay on top of the leaderboards.

The least we can do is reach out to the community and at least be open about what’s going on, though :ok_hand:

why must you do this

Understandable, but perhaps make a rule or so where people can’t RK low levels such as newly level 45s (however this would probably be very hard or near impossible due to how fast you’re gaining infamy -> more member slots -> more potential RKers in the guild)

Okay. this is a HUGE topic right now with lots of people. here are some of my thoughts. first off, I find that your description is VERY misleading and all though I dont 100% agree with all statements from STarte, I do find that most of the encounters with your guild members is mostly toxic. As of now if you find a SunCry member, they will most likely attack you, and try to farm infamy off you until you leave or they cant find where you spawned. Then once you finally get them killed, and make them lose 1 or 2 infamy, they call in a whole squad of 3-6 people to gank you. Another View of mine is that your guild members, even the mature ones, do go for the lower level players, such as fresh level 45’s and level 60’s. which in my opinion and many others is very very toxic.

That would be very hard to enforce, but maybe we could take some steps to not kill players below level 50: I make no promises, but I did just link this post to our council chat.

Understandable as there are bound to be rule breakers (within a massive guild such as Suncry, Noble, etc) since 200+ members is quite alot to control (if even possible to control) and the lowered player count (24 -> 18) making it harder for people to join and check in on their guild members and such

In my eyes, I see it as they are either farming their own guild mates (which is kind of low blow) and I know for a fact target lower levels, they can pick off easily, or just some random that is either trying to enjoy the game, and or farm quests. They are the ones PICKING the fights and not protecting the people. once again leading back to the description of their guild. In my eyes I believe they should change their description, and make it fit their play style, of the majority. As of now, everyone sees SunCry guild as a threat, and dark guild that is rking THOUSANDS of players, with no emotion at all.

Pro tip to people that are getting killed:

Just say no, they can’t kill you without your consent.
