well the difference is that people see a name that worked on the game and recognize it, then decide “hehe what if I gank the creator/contributor/mildly famous person!”, much more often than like 3 people that witch hunted your friend for a few days
1: vetex and tech dont abuse their customs unless their hosting an event or something
2: if game mods, testers or contributors are that fucking butthurt over being witch hunted or killed they can turn their joins off and just play in non clan servers (everyone in non clan servers have 10 playerkills at the highest) or just wait for pvp toggle to release

imo just make it so that players killed by customs don’t lose infamy or bounty. it’s not like they’re incapable of giving themselves access to a regular magic to hunt and play competitively with; just make it so it can be used to clean up people being annoying and not used to gain a competitive advantage

This is probably the best option. The primary account which holds a custom should not be allowed on clans at all. It’ll only incite more conflict than necessary and draw further attention towards the custom user.
Want to keep ownership? Make an alt account and transfer ownership to it - I’ve seen multiple clans make holders, they can do it too. They keep ownership of the clan they’ve spent so long building (at the cost of not being in it), people in clan wars don’t deal with the BS of customs. This also allows them to enable the PvP toggle so they won’t NEED a custom. Problem solved!
Yup. As long as I’m alive, I shall argue against custom magics. My hatred for dev specs has no bounds.
