It is not.
The PvP toggle is the only reason a good chunk of the current playerbase, myself included, find the game enjoyable at all.
We dealt with their bull for years and now we don’t have to anymore.
Didn’t matter if you had 5 renown or 5 million, joining the game was, in itself, a gamble if you’d get spawnkilled or not.
Let me put it the same way I’ve always put it.
If PvP as it was is so integral to the game that it will die without it, let it.
If AO is either going to burn or be reduced to a battlegrounds game where the only people happy with it are the type that only get joy by taking it from others, then burn it.
I do not want that type to have a single place to go.
Nope i said that pvp is integral to the games because of the universe in which it exists and the fact Vetex has failed to provide any meaningful pve activity for players to engage in.
“most of the playerbase left” you mean the players afk farming fleets or doing nothing anymore? Because theres js a lot more pvp players than pve players currently lol
Your logic is flawed from the foundation.
A game, regardless of setting, can be anything.
The war seas are a horrid shithole, the game does not need to and absolutely should not make you feel like you are truly in the war seas. If it did, you’d feel horrible.
Thats a game problem rather than a PvP toggle problem to be completely honest because at the end of the day it is still a PvE game. The only thing you can do basically is make drip, go to the dark sea for dragon hunting or other things, complete your build, do other slots if you feel like it, side content that doesn’t really count as replayability like pages of Athena/forts, and thats pretty much it because Vetex hasn’t turned the Dark Sea into an actually solid foundation for replayability. PvP is an easy way to make replayability but that just harms the rest of the community that doesn’t do pvp. Also, its not like PvP has outright vanished because there is still PvP to this day in Elysium, PvP servers, and Arena. There’s basically no benefit into getting rid of PvP toggle.
Factually wrong because this just wasnt even the case before the pvp toggle was added, people were capable of progressing just fine even without being good at pvp or constantly keeping track of their environment
I was jumped on Cirrus multiple times when progressing a new file.
It was only by sheer luck that the guy jumping me was so ass at the game they let me use a grab on them and throw them off.
Whatever honor rules you believe existed before the toggle did not.
It was added for a reason and the game would implode from outrage if it was removed.
Literally every single one of your points about pvp toggle making things safer is built uppon exaggerations of things that rarely happened.
People jumped you because:
You had Sealed chests
You had renown
You were bothering them one way or another
Its an open world rpg game themed around piracy and war with barely any actual pve content that doesnt encourage you to afk farm forever, tthis shouldn’t be something to whine over, the possibility of being attacked is completly normal and never made it impossible for you to play the game.
“but i got targetted” you got targetted by one or two person whilst the game had been out for 2-3 years, you shouldn’t generalize your entire experience over things that are uncommon
So your saying people have the right to steal the things I worked hard for (like that one guy in a video I saw) because they wanted to be a dick? In a PvE game? Yeah idk about that. The renown one is plausible and #3? I barely even bother anyone. Also, are we just not going to address everything people have been saying earlier?
