It matches with how Lighting’s limb loss protection works i guess; both annoying for vanity, but parity regardless.

Finally the vanity stuff gets usefull

  • [Fixed] Rain and snow effects can appear on islands that are not meant to have weather effects such as Sameria.
  • [Fixed] The Black Powder quest gives twice as much XP as intended.

this got changed

  • Animals now deal less percent damage based on how many metal armor pieces the target is wearing. (Up to 50% less)
    • This is based on what armor is shown on your character, not stat equips.
    • Only pauldrons, helmets, and gauntlet type accessories count towards this.
    • You can determine if an item is considered “metal” or not by the sound it makes when you equip it. (Some armor sets are currently not considered metal which will be fixed)
  • (moochezz) Added Annihilation, a new weapon skill
  • [Fixed] Some metal items and armor sets are not considered metal by the game.

  • Added descriptions when hovering over jewel stats shown under your gear stats in the inventory.
  • When having a chestpiece equipped visually on your character, “Limb Protection - 100%” will now display as a jewel stat in the inventory under your main stats, and when hovered it will explain that when losing a limb, a piece of your armor will visually break off when instead, due to having a chestpiece equipped visually on your character (this is not a new feature, this is just a way to make it understood in-game)
  • When having valid (see above) metal items equipped visually on your character, an Animal Defense percentage stat will show as a jewel stat in your inventory, and when hovered it will explain that you have increased resistance to damage dealt by animals due to having metal items equipped visually on your character.

Sorry, this is months-old news, but I don’t think it was ever posted in RFAO, so it may as well be now. Tobi has a tweet from October showing what some of the tier 8 building structures look like. They’re super regal and fancy! Just look at that gold trim. Looking forward to seeing them in-game someday (even though I’ll never be rich enough to use them).

  • Finished adding Vanishing Style, a new fighting style that will be taught by a mentor in the Nimbus Sea. It involves using trace magic energy to hide the user for brief periods of time while they build Focus by attacking, which increases the user’s invisibility and invisibility duration the higher it is. It also allows the user to perform critical hits by charging techniques briefly, giving them the ability to pierce blocking and deal slightly more damage.
    • Weapons imbued with Vanishing Style also build Focus and can perform critical hits with their skills.

Focus drains passively.

    • Weapons imbued with Vanishing Style also build Focus and can perform critical hits with their skills.
  • Sharks, sea monsters, and whales now deal falling off percent damage similar to animals, with the same damage protection system given by wearing metal armor pieces visually. (see last version for more info)
    • The percent damage they deal is relatively the same as their previous base damage, but not randomized, and is decreased based on your level.
    • Boats take the same amount of damage from shark/sea monster attacks as before.
  • Renamed the Animal Defense visual stat to Beast Defense and updated its description when hovered.
