Roblox game combat complexity

isle, the fact that its so simple (click to aim) yet u have to take into account so many stuff

  • positioning
  • recovery time
  • what guns work well togheter
  • what items should u cary (u have a weight system, reach max and u cant take any more items till u drop some)
  • stuff that can affect u (temp speed boost, artifacts, vests, etc)
  • mercs location (npcs + other npcs that can attack u)
  • knowing when to shoot (u sure as hell dont wanna go in close range to someone with heat vision and a fucking minigun and sniper)
  • litterally if ur bullets can reach them (since they actually come from the gun, u need to take that into account)
  • slowdown when u are aiming and the text that appears when u aim (the person including u will get specific texts when someone aims at u)

so many stuff and i can keep going

Black magic 2, game looks real nice but holy shit I don’t have enough time to practice all that shit hehe.

so is literally every other fighting game under the sun except infinitely worse
roblox players when they whine about being sick of m1 combat and beg for complex fighting systems and when they finally get a game with a complex fighting system they can’t fucking memorize it cause they’re all fucking stupid
battlegrounds game induced brainrot

Project: Gaming has entered the chat.

did you just try to counterpoint me with a smash clone

by the logic of keyboard memorization and people hating not being able to memorize stuff, yes, because the joy of smash is that the controls and mechanics are simple, but together can be complex

i mean i was expecting like KOF levels of advanced for a counterpoint but i get your point

What class is this for :sob:

Uhhhhh super doomspire

I do wonder how crazy pvp would be in isle if you had to manually aim every weapon :eyes:

honestly i think that would be a downgrade

yea Omega is a noob stomper class because if you dont know how to deal with it it can seem impossible to beat. I have around 200 hours on Strife and it took me a while to learn how to fight Omega, and it’s still probably top 3 classes in the game. But every class has a soft or hard counter(s) and when you play with other experienced players thats when you really see how complex the game can get.

Difficult and clunky controls don’t make for a ā€œComplexā€ combat system, all they make for is one with an irritatingly high skill floor. Look at the SSB series—the reason it’s so highly acclaimed is its straightforward controls. You don’t have to reach keys halfway across a keyboard to perform basic moves, all of your moves are nothing more than a combination of a button press and one directional input. Simple, yet it can hold considerable depth due to matchups, out-of-shields, ledge options, etc.

I played BM2 a while back and basically noped out when I saw that the flipping basic attacks were assigned to Z, X, and C. I had to completely re-bind half the keys to make it even remotely playable. Don’t come to me acting like that horseplop is a good fighting game.

alright fair
i still fuckin hate battlegrounds games though
they say the combat’s deep when it’s just a contest of who can land the first m1 to start their combo

Once they are done with their infinite hit combo you are at 1 hp :skull:

Its like if your game does not have stupidly op m1 combat and combos its automatically shit.

battlegrounds games are all setdressing that’s the whole reason they do so well
the vfx are rad but they all literally play the same just with a new coat of paint attached
even with the same combos
it’s just
Q dash forwards, land a hit on the opponent while uturning or whatever then start your 100-0 combo
they even share the same slam down mechanic where if you delay your final hit and jump before you do it you can do a downslam
the only game i’d argue that does the m1 combo system well is ABA and that’s only because the combo system is different for most characters and they have diverse kits that don’t consist of the standard Block Break, Combo Extender Multi-Hit, Combo Ender, and an awakening with like no depth to it

Hense why they have high player counts the attention span of roblox kids are so low.

yeah I HATE those types of games, I still can’t say I’ve seen any sort of m1 based game that actually does it’s pvp reasonably aside from lore game since it’s simple enough to avoid most issues

what are your thoughts on things like turn based combat pvp such as Loomian Legacy?

LL is pretty rad
only things I dislike about it is:

the grind to get good IVs (i don’t know what they’re called in LL so i’m using the Pokemon terms), mainly because all of my main team has absolutely garbage IVs and my Obsidrugon got the shitty ability instead of the good one and I’ll blow my brains out before I grind again for the 1% pseudo you can find in one location only for it to also have shitty IVs

and the stamina system but the stamina system is less of a bad thing and more of a nitpick that i personally dislike because having to strategize when you can regain stamina (wether you go and empty your stamina and then Rest which fills most of the bar but leaves you vulnerable or stay at a consistently high stamina and only use the Break option which leaves you less vulnerable but fills less stamina) is a really neat idea which i feel is a bit more of a chore in my opinion but it’s a neat mechanic that separates it from other games like Doodle World

I personally prefer the game’s story more but the Pvp is nice
