Should Clan Building Be Prioritized Before Release?

i spawned on someones brig while they were joining a raid, it was a 6 man raid it felt like magic vietnam (until the general spawned, we bullied that mf with blast+javelin+beam spam)

The lag it causes both to the server and clients in its range, how people can join in without your consent and/or knowledge to increase the difficulty, how the rewards are mediocre, how it lasts super long despite that, how its boss is locked behind what essentially is a timelock, how the fortress itself is protected by a projected forcefield which stops low-range cannons from hitting, maybe more points but this is all that I could think of.

this is the first time clans/pvp get content* and the ONLY negativity i seem to see is pvers or clanless complaining about it.

it isn’t. in fact it’s strictly better in my experience.
“why is it locked behind clans wtf let everyone use it”
you dont have to pvp to be in a clan, crazy concept right?
if you wanna defend your island you’ll have to, but you do NOT have to pvp to build in a clan.

i really dont feel like coming up with more of these so ill just continue.

contrary to popular belief, pvp/clans are not some toxic cult like hivemind that you guys seem to think it is, its generally pretty chill outside of a few assholes. not everyone 3v1 ganks you and then insults you until you leave like people make it seem. This is not nearly as large of an issue as most people seem to think it is
yet, most people just let the few negative encounters live rent free in their head and just disown any pvper because of it.
thats what most cases seem to be, at least.

please get a valid reason for building to not have gotten added before full release instead of “oh i got killed by this one asshole one time so we shouldnt give clans/pvp any content” or “i want something that everyone can enjoy, not just the clan guys” (plenty of this already compared to pvp content btw)

let pvpers have a win for once.

*excluding elysium, but i dont think that can truly be considered content, atleast in the same way empires was

Okay, no, this is a bad argument. Saying that “well, the MAJORITY of clans are decent” doesn’t justify the really miserable experience that the bad ones can bring. Especially given that this entire update catered to clans, thus drastically increasing the amount of clans in the game and making negative interactions more likely overall.

That’s like saying “well, the MAJORITY of people in this town haven’t been murdered, so a few murders here and there are fine”. Like, no, no they aren’t. If it’s an issue beyond an individual basis, its large enough to warrant criticism and action.

And before you say “you can’t compare murders to casual ganks”; they both can remove the person from the system. The murder from killing the person, and the gank by making the player quit the game. So yes, they can be compared. Both are issues which remove a ‘good’ population from a system, leaving proportionally more of the ‘bad’ population.
