I’m not sure about that “Permenant Character Loss” feature, sounds super unnecessary and like a giant money-making gimmick that would detract from the overall experience, but the rest sounds fun.

No, the issue is that I don’t want to make days of progress and then die from some minecraft bedrock edition type crap and lose it.
I would say just not to take it too seriously, just think of it as what it is (a game)

It actually works really well with the gimmick, but the thing is, I would recommend not playing it until conquest drops. The devs have been slowly ignoring pve more and more because they are all shoving it into conquest, so if you don’t want to be killed constantly, just wait to get it (it will probably go on sale after conquest too)
But if you do get it, remember this. If you see a player with black swirls around them, run

I still don’t like the sound of a forced progress loss mechanic.
Seriously though there’s a system in place that allows a dude to airdrop themselves onto your location with the express purpose of killing you. It’s called a voidwalker and it’s the worst mechanic in the videogame period.
Also it IS a roguelite, this includes post-death buffs. There’s a currency called “echoes” you get after dying to buff your next character depending on the stuff you accomplish in your run
from the few hours i used to play it i only got murked by players like twice or so, its not that toxic
then again, things could be different in your region servers
I was on the singing island or something. Wizard one, you know which I mean. I saw a Voidwalker nearby, so I switched servers. I was in a DIFFERENT SERVER. A few minutes later, a Voidwalker killed me

Yeah the devs really just pander to PvP players right now. Pve has essentially stopped being gameplay and has just become “spam m1/crits in the diluvian mechanism until you have the thing you need for your PvP build” I pray eventually they realize that deepwokens pve (when it has effort put into it) is actually fun and shouldn’t just be a tool until you can play chime forever

Yeah it’s pretty cool AO and Deepwoken are like the only 2 games I care about on Roblox.
Unfortunately the community basically hazes any new players, I’d recommend seeking help from a specific person instead of just asking the general community. Look up guides instead of asking, and never, EVER go near a max level if you aren’t prepared to get your ass kicked (also there’s this weird thing called shrine of order you should look into but it’s not relevant until you can consistently get to max level in your runs7
I got deepwoken and it’s pretty cool
I haven’t really had time to actually play it recently but I like the aesthetic of the game
it’s a mixture of that older style of Roblox exploration/obby games of the past and a more modern fantasy esque style.
however I gotta admit the early game is kind of a slog and dagger bandits are actually insane , race changing costing robux is a rather controversial feature for me as well as it means I am literally locked out of experiencing the game with different attributes.
