Silas' class

Silas uses everything but strength because Vetex doesn’t like strength. Case closed!

you dare question the words of our Lord? blasphemous!

yes

Is Silas not some kind of a super savant who is a pure build in Everything? Don’t take this seriously though, I may have misread something, somewhere.

He probably is like canonically he probably develops a lost or ancient magic but also utilises a high quality weapon and a powerful FS and has a high understanding of spirit energy like I’d feel like Savant would be the term for like an average well rounded dude but Silas is probably more like as the awakening calls it a prodigy of all implying Silas is just extremely prodigious in all fields of combat

Like gameplay wise Savants won’t be able to use ancient magics and it’s unlikely they could acquire lost magics due to balance lore wise having savant like training means you’ll have to spend time balancing things out so like a savant lore wise isn’t purely powerful but I imagine most savants lore wise probably fill like a clever trickster role to make up for it

I’m also gonna guess since Silas is a legacy it enhances his capabilities and growth speed in a a way and therefore why he’ll be able to master them

The Order also probably kind of messed around with his body. Might have given him some kind of a bonus (Not Including the Amnesia…)

the mc’s class is mage because magic is the favorite child class

oops i meant “mage’s knowledge” or whatever it got renamed into

my paladin silas oc is finally bearing fruit

You fucking dimwit it’s “>60% magic”!!1!1 /j I don’t seriously call people dimwits over stupid class names

“Calvus tried getting powerful in every single aspect of fighting” - his attacks are big and scary, but in reality they don’t hit hard and are extremely slow. Despite aether being twice faster than metal it feels like certain viking would have killed Calvus at least 3 times before he launches his 500! 500! 500!

Silas on the other hand uses smaller and simplier attacks, but more precisely and with greater combination potential. Idk how it goes now, but old weapon based savants were true menaces in right hands, barely any casting time, but sheer tons of damage.

I’m not going by gameplay merely lore as Silas only exists as the lore’s canonical mc. Aether is also a large explosive light so his attacks being large isn’t too surprising.

the reason Silas is canonically a savant is because according to vetex, everyone is a savant (there are no classes in lore)

The issue’s savants face in lore is mastery. They merely don’t have time to progress their powers fully in the typical human life span. Magic’s expanding would help or a curse but it would still take time. We see this with the 2 savants we face in game. Calvus and mane. Calvus uses strength-magic-weapon he kinda melds his His magic and weapons together plus using an Arcanium fork helps conduct his magic through it better. But his strength is just slapped on and doesn’t get melded in making his efforts feel wasted. Mane uses a war bow which uses both his weapon training and strength then imbues his arrows with his magic melding the 3 together but due to training 3 different powers they’re still all much weaker then training 1 or 2.

And his arguement is flawed and honestly wrong. Sure in theory every is a savant but just cause I can punch someone doesn’t mean I’m a trained berserker. You’re not locked into a stat build in lore but people still fall into them as that’s what they train. Iris is a mage, if she picked up a sword she’s not suddenly a conj as she has no training in weapons.

eh, I get what he’s saying with the whole lack of classes thing but he just words it weirdly. I do agree though that it’s better to say silas doesn’t have a canon class rather than say everyone is a savant

But like they do exist they just aren’t strictly enforced. Elius is clearly trained in weapons and magic. He’s a conjure. Cenyx uses his magic and fight style. He’s a warlock. The classes’ names aren’t canon sure but stats and classes just represent what you’re trained and proficient in

Wait a goddamn second, that reminds me!

Ravenna’s upper brass got destroyed primarily by us, only Frauden being tied against Julifraud, way before we encounter Ivar, who, by the looks of it, seems to be below the rank of a general.

How the fuck was the Sameria-Keraxe treaty mediated by Ravenna when the latter is obviously simply weaker than Sameria? By all accounts, Keraxe should’ve been more than capable to curb stomp Ravenna, especially if they allied with Thorne empire who also wants the Bronze sea (not that they’d need it).
