I just thought about how nice it’d be to make normal axe skills a little more interesting, and my proposed change isn’t a huge thing to implement.
THE PROPOSAL
So we know axe throw has projectile fall-off right? That means of you threw it more upwards, it would curve and arc.
What if there was like, a guiding line for the player that displayed the curvature path of the axe and where it would impact?
This would make axe throw a lot more easy to decide what angle to throw it at and allow it to somewhat work like some kind of castlevania belmont attack
The impact could also be reworked a bit to maybe have a tiny explosion radius or something.
WHY THIS SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED
Axe throw is a pretty… mediocre move as of right now, and while it’s not necessarily unusable, it’s just not very interesting to run. Making it so the axe throw is essentially the first lobbing type projectile in AO could add a new dimension to PvP and PvE with potential for trickshots and predictions. While it’s not the biggest change proposal I’ve ever made, I think it can really help breathe a little life into an overall neglected weapon type, and an even more overlooked weapon skill.
