Stricter rules on drama

Recently I have seen way too many posts that have devolved into a massive arguement that had to be shut down by a mod. Something should be created to prevent more drama from occurring wether it is a new rule or stricter rule enforcing.

For some reason I have a feeling I’m the reason for a majority of very the recent ones.

i think punishing people who incite drama or who are frequently causing drama with a mute or something like that could help. this entire forum needs something to make them chill out because it’s been super uptight and toxic with each other ngl.

Yeah this is a problem most modern fourms have, lots of toxicity and drama.

please

Several questions on how this would work:

  1. How do we define Drama/Toxicity/Arguments?
  2. Do these definitions suggest there is a measurable issue on the forum?
  3. Is status-quo moderation effectively responding to the current issue?
  4. Can this current issue be handled outside of formal moderation?
  1. You can define it by how the post steers the conversation off-topic and into drama.
  2. Yes, this happens on almost every major forum posts.
  3. No, it just completely locks the topic without punishing.
  4. Unfortunately no.

Several_People, Sister, etc are notorious at causing heated drama that usually isn’t even relevant to the conversation. I believe people like them need to be punished

No. I love reading drama.

without drama we wouldnt have such great works like Shaqspear

no? just let dudes argue it out and close the post if people start seeing it going the wrong way.

Cracking down on ‘’’’’’’‘drama’’’’’’’’ is stupid, it prevents people from arguing properly and since there isn’t really a chat-box-group thingy feature then they duke it out publicly since it’s easier + allows others to come into the chat and bring more arguments.

  • it’s fun sometimes especially when everyone is actually arguing and throwing 2348923 arguments at each other at 99km/h

edit: god damn it why does the + make it into that board point thingy

I mean the solution is just to actually crack down on trolls.

If somebody is frequently causing posts to veer off course, gets flagged often, and has a generally poor reputation among users it’s pretty fair to say that they are a troll and ban them.
Even if they aren’t a troll it’s clear they aren’t mature/civil enough to be a part of this forum.

It would also be a huge help if we could flag posts for “trolling”

like these ‘‘human beings’’ for example

Hmmm, that isn’t suspicious at all!

I think banning people that get way too angry online on the forums because people said something they disliked should get banned like Several_People, Pedro, Kitty_Cushion, Legendarypapier, etc. They make the forums too toxic and everything uptight and strict because all they want to do is make everyone say the same thing like from the book Wrinkle in Time. This, my friends, results in a toxic culture with drama

ah yes because I apparently get way too angry online.

Your tears only increase our damage.

you mean your damage? or is there more of you?

there is a thing called private messaging

uh, what tears though?
you just got exposed for being an uncivil rager here on our forums (and likely a troll because of that) and… Pedro’s the one whose crying?

Troll logic at it’s finest.

Thank you for helping to prove my point about trolls here on the forums though.
You’re derailing this topic and attempting to induce angry responses for no reason!
