charging your energy for long enough in specific locations or altitudes will grant a temporary buff or debuff, depending on your build’s affinities. (i.e. buffing lightning magic at high altitude, but debuffing sailor style at the same altitude)
Addendum: Some charge buffs and/or debuffs are also based on time, with some being based on both location, and time, and varying between being a decent-ish buff, and various crippling debuffs, based on rules that are incomprehensible enough to seem random.
Beating anything above your level now causes a random generic Injury. You need to go to a new Hospital merchant and pay them 2000 Drachma to half its duration.
Alternatively, you can use Repair Kits to remove a tenth of the current duration.
are we robots now
repair kits heal us
What do you think a Robloxian is made of?
anyways my suggestion is that arcane odyssey and the forge and the crucible do a collab so my endless glazing is relevant
you WILL hear the glaze
Not many people know this, but if a child, for examples, injures itself and starts crying, hit it a few times with a hammer, and it’ll stop crying!
plastic
it’s fantastic
cutscenes will occasionally be interrupted by several minutes of choreographed musical numbers, all of which are also unskippable.
you can review previously-seen cutscenes from the menu, but still can’t skip them.
that’s just how it automatically works so that’s not even that bad
cutscenes occurring in a different sea (i.e. as interludes from outside the player’s perspective) will now require you to teleport to that sea to view them, and then back
each of your profiles now requires a 6-digit passcode to manage and access, inputted through an on-screen keypad that changes its layout every 15-ish seconds.
slightly daunted by the idea that perhaps i might have to play the game to think of more bad ideas
magic/spirit builds of a high enough level in the future will be able to take their ship underwater indefinitely by covering it in an energy bubble.
Anything for paladin upscale
Paladin specifically will be unable to do this as both options require >60% stat points invested in spirit or magic
players with levels in any profession(s) will now have a random chance upon landing on an island to spawn a campsite in a certain proximity, with an NPC of similar level in their profession(s); the NPC will stay there until they are killed or the player responsible for their spawning leaves the server.
profession NPCs, based on predetermined characteristics on spawning, will offer one or more profession-specific functions:
-challenging a player to profession tasks for a reward (or loss), such as cooking a sufficiently large meal
-bartering with profession-specific items (i.e. a high-level shovel for a treasure chart or a quantity of jewels)
-assisting in profession tasks for a cut of the task’s reward or for drachma. (i.e. finding treasure dig sites in exchange for part of the treasure)
much like bounty/assassination-related rivals, profession NPCs after a certain number of interactions will become your rival in one or multiple professions, and will appear on islands randomly doing profession-specific tasks with or without a campsite, such as fishing or digging up treasure.
they’ll also occasionally send messages with profession tips and whatnot, but whether they’re capable of sending gift messages too is based purely on chance ahuhuhuhuhuhu
Any injuries, or limb loss is permanent; every time you die, you lose a percentage of your max health (will also cut from defense); natural regeneration ticks every 24 hours, the regen stat is removed from everything; and health potions are not instant, but will take a random amount of time between 1 week to three months, depending on how severely injured you are.
To heal faster and repair any of the previous effects, you must be taken care of by an Oracle— a 1/1000 chance to replace any other spawning NPC in the map, They are not highlighted, and charge exorbitant prices.
Alternatively, If you attempt to invest in spirit, you lose the ability to fight and must dedicate your abilities to healing others (Doctors need other Doctors to fix themselves, duh); this also requires taking an exam that mimics professional medical colleges— failure will make you unable to heal people, and lower scores make your healing worse. retaking medical license tests have a three month wait-list.
This is all to help with immersion, because healing is canonically slow.
you can now throw multiple potions at once in a random spread.
