but why
yea ok “human limitation” but like, mages are humans too, are they not subject to the same limitations as we are? are mages just suddenly not humans now?

oh look! he mentioned trace amounts of magic!!
we’re kind of past that point
now it’s a question of why zerkers seemingly just can’t get as much “magic” as mages can when they’re literally both pure builds and are supposed to be counterparts of eachother.
zerkers in lore wouldnt have unlocked their first mind so they cant use magic fully
aren’t minds retconned
Correct!
There’s not really any reason to force it to be this way either. The people that can best interact with the power system are going to be the strongest. Settings where that gap can be breached by regular people are cool, but it is neither necessary nor inherently good writing for that to be the case.
The guys who don’t have to deal as much with aging for centuries? I think they might be a little different.
cause magic users harness far more magic energy through the use of magic circles. magic circles are humanity’s way of tapping into the power of chaos in greater amounts. if that same berserker were to unlock magic use and start harnessing magic circles to become a warlock, they would have it just as easy as a mage
classes don’t exist in lore so this stuff is a lot more fluid anyway
this was a lame as hell decision by vetex, I’m fully onboard the lore hatetrain for this retcon
amazing!
there is literally nothing stopping zerkers from being as good as mages!
but they for some reason aren’t because skibidi toilet haha lol poppy playtime digital circus lankybox haha looksmaxxing Ohio!!!
Anyways can we get back to the actual topic instead of trying to debate whether or not non-magic users having less potential makes sense or not?
i dont remember, either way not everyone can actually use magic, for example durza, or pretty much everyone on cirrus island except that one snow mage
i cant believe im arguing with kids about essentially powerscaling…
well it doesn’t because
-minds don’t exist anymore
-zerkers are counterparts to mages
-they can both do superhuman things
I guess we’re gonna ignore the fact that zerkers can basically smash mountains in half with their bare hands but I guess every human can do that mb
Since when do minds not exist
This whole topic got derailed so hard
If you want to torture someone just force them to comprehend Vetex’s lore
Since a few months ago
this honestly makes things so much worse because not only is magic harder to use due to RNG with genes but it’s also just arbitrarily better
wow I started a war wth there’s like 5 people typing
U gon provide a screenshot or…
it’s on a google doc somewhere
it mentions how mages can theoretically learn infinite magics so therefore minds no longer exist
Here’s my contribution to trying to get back on topic: the bleakness for the AU in the seven seas at the very least comes to an end with the PK. Not only will they be getting rid of curses like you said in the original post but they also raise Magius so that everybody doesn’t have to live on some isolated island plagued by tsunamis, sea monsters, etc.
And idk if this s gonna be canon still but tech also said that the PK also removes the magic energy polluting the world with the Absorption curse, so I guess the people of Magius (and everybody else in the world) don’t have to wait hundreds of years for it to dissipate naturally now, hooray!
Idk how the war seas are gonna end up tho, good luck to them
Yeah the only real limit is that it becomes harder to learn new magics as you unlock more
