The Deepwoken and Roblox's Playerbase

Disclaimer: Please do not argue about the Deepwoken in this thread, and instead have an orderly discussion about your problems here. This thread isn’t about Deepwoken, I just used the title as clickbait.

For those unaware, the peak player count of World of Magic was around 10k near release in 2020, something that was difficult to achieve for many games at the time. Yeah, it was a fun game and all, but the amount of people actively engaging in it eventually dwindled down to a few thousand.

The year is now 2023, and Roblox has now quadrupled in its playerbase, with popular games hitting the 10k mark being a norm. Heck, the games on the front page average a tenth of a million players, which is quite literally insane. Like, look at fucking Blox Fruits, with 450,000 CONCURRENT PLAYERS… DAILY. Compared to World of Magic, there’s going to be much, MUCH more people playing Arcane Odyssey, and while that may be a good thing in some cases, it’s going to be much more chaotic in others as well.

At the moment, Deepwoken Youtubers have been advertising AO like mad. Yeah, it’s increasing the game’s overall population, but it’s also carrying over their community to this game as well.
Deepwoken Players are quite… interesting individuals, but there are a few points I want to make with you guys:

  1. The majority of them only play Deepwoken cause there’s literally nothing else on this forsaken platform. It’s not their fault that they have nothing else to play.
  2. Yes, they’re toxic
  3. They are… very determined. Think about it, they continuously replay a game over and over again, they constantly have to PVP knowing that at any moment, their progress will disappear forever. Now imagine these type of people playing the hit game Arcane Odyssey, where their progress being reset is no longer an issue. The horrors

A lot of them, along with other players in the ROBLOX RPG community, and MANY, MANY CHILDREN, are going to be joining the Arcane Community.
Let that, heh, sink in for a moment.
That is all
I don’t have anything else to say, I forgot my main point halfway through

yeah it’s the only reason i still play it lol

not everyone but yes a good deal of them are very toxic

point 1: yeah true

point 2: yeah they may be toxic but so is practically any other community on roblox. heck id be surprised if ao’s community doesnt become even a bit toxic

point 3: if they can get past the barrier of entry of this being a mainly story based game and that the pvp isint m1 stun miss a parry = you lose, id say let them play

i dunno if the whole toxic community is gonna stay tbh. they thrive of having the ability of resetting your progress. sure some will still come but yeah

To be honest I just want AO to be successful, I think it’s p much given any major roblox game will have some chaotic and shady parts to its community

One of the scariest things nobody will be prepared for is when all of the dw players basically act like rkers
Though I know one person who plays dw and like AO and he isn’t toxic at all because he’s my friend.

You made a very good point, Fish. It was worth reading through all of that.

DOOM COMES OUR WAY; AN ODYSSEY OF MISERY! REPENT WHILE THE OPPORTUNITY STILL LINGERS IN FICKLE AIR!

I jest - Arcane Adventures had its toxic players too, as did World of Magic and really any other game you can think of. At leasg there’s no permadeath in this game so the most you’ll lose are some galleons and reputation(the main thing keeping me out of Deepwoken tbh)

I don’t see much of an issue with new players coming, even if they are just future hecklers - gives those who want to rank up in the Grand Navy something to farm and makes the pirate seas more realistic.

Their tenacity could easily result in petty revenge attacks where they’ll return over and over again should their initial conflict with you resulted in their L - but that really could be anyone.

Tldr; there isnt much to worry about, game good

I’m confused on why you wrote this ngl is this just to like highlight toxic players by calling them dw players or something?

The Deepwoken Asian Players are scary
The guilds there do turf wars and attack each other like mad :frcryin:

No, im just pointing out that the AO playerbase is gonna be like super large, and mentioning who might be in the playerbase. This wasn’t meant to highlight deepwoken players specifically, I was just using them as an example.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it won’t really matter. I would argue that most of the behavior in deep woken is a product of the environment. The incentive to kill means that you at some point will likely be killed by someone toxic. Which leads into a cycle to being toxic back until a majority of people are toxic. The only incentive to pvp in ao is sealed chests, which I feel like are going to be a challenge to plunder. This honestly seems like it won’t matter. Except for the dark sea that might become hell on earth.

Dont forget bounties

That only gives crowns or fame which don’t get me wrong will be valuable but not really have any trading value, plus I would argue your only going to get a high bounty if your ganking people.

Testers have said multiple times Galleons are extremely useful and difficult to obtain.
You lot still say they will be useless because WoM made them seem so, but this isn’t WoM.
