Cause for people who have been trading for as long as they have, they definitely know how to set up deals, how to get a good deal…
In terms of what is valuable or not?
Nobody should be really dictating what is worth what. It’s up to people on their own to determine what they’d want, again circling back to the base value, it ruins business in general
If anyone unironically uses value lists… There’s no way people actually uses those things, that’s more braindead than ROBLOX trading communities usually are.
u just wanna scam and lowball mfs dont you
thats literally all i’m understanding from what you said, you’re the type of guy to immediately offer something that isn’t of actual great value to a new player that doesn’t understand the value of the sunken boots they just caught at 93 fish
if they have a value list to look at, they would never accept your shit offer in the first place and that makes you mad
is this considered the pve player’s version of ganking low levels?
well yeah obviously the sunken, seasonal and acrimony values are jokes cuz they are basically there to be the rarest items of the game
you generally cant trade stuff for them except the rest of this overpriced section so necessarily their galleon “value” is gonna be crazy
From my experience in that channel, it’s more used for people asking each other “Did I get a Gamer W or L on this trade” and checking in on how things are every now and then. I could just be inactive, but I don’t see much debate going on in there
I would say not really, just look at the demand for enchant scrolls now, atlantean essence, some of the new armor. People got builds to make
As for the dupe seasonals in circulation, I think it’s just really up to the dupes slipping by without people noticing. My fault for bringing that up though, it leads into a slippery slope of skepticism
It is understandable that not everyone will agree with our value list. As stated directly above it, the value list only serves as a guideline and a point of reference. Any values are only worth as much as a buyer is willing to pay. As we expand, there will understandably be some disagreements from a larger user base. We’ve recently pushed out a feedback form to address value list issues, and hear more input from the community. If any individual has feedback for the value list, you are more than welcome to do so by navigating to our #analysis channel, where you can find the form. We are more than willing to increase our community outreach in the spirit of Arcane Odyssey.
thats true, most people use it for that purpose rn
but there used to be a lot of debates in that channel when the galleon server was smaller. Rn its simply being overrun by questions about values and W trades etc
Galleonspiracy doesn’t roll my tongue well, Galleongate maybe??
In seriousness though, I have been following them and I admire their effort to quantify and standardize pricing. However, the recent complaints about some items being overpriced means it kind of caters towards established and wealthy traders.
A way to counter this is to make our own value list that does not answer to a small cabal to compete. They will come to their senses once people lose trust and prefer the alternative value list. Or wait for vetex to make that auctioneer do something in later updates.
Hey, we’re glad to take feedback or suggestions on how we can make our Value List more accurate. Honestly though, values are highly subjective and there is no way to guarantee complete accuracy. There will never be a “true” set value, but we’ve consciously designed our systems with this in mind.
What also holds true is that the server was created out of passion, it is more valuable to me than all of Arcane Odyssey’s wealth, and it was made with the hope of providing a valuable resource to the community.
However, it is really important to decide for yourself what an item is worth and to not take our Value List as a complete and accurate representation of the real marketplace. - An item is only worth as much as you’re willing to pay.
We hear you and others out and we’ve already begun an initiative to welcome more community input. We’ve recently created a Feedback Form posted on our Value List and we’ve started considering opening a public Polls channel for values and other uses. Although we won’t take these polls as the absolute, they will contribute to determining values along with market analyzations found by our team of Analysts.
@Viprid I want to hear your concerns personally as well, feel free to send them here or open a ticket in our server to speak with us directly.
The problem is that most players just take 1 look at the value list and take it as a set in stone value - if they get offered less then what it says it is a scam.
Yeah, I view that partially as a player issue of not wanting to get a good sense of values themselves and taking a shortcut as treating a value list that’s very susceptible to being out of date as absolute. It would probably help to include a stronger disclaimer than “treat all values as the average price”.
As an ex galleon analyst, this post is entirely bullshit. The list isn’t made to benefit us, the point of it was to provide accurate values for the rest of the community. While this in turn adds issues of making good value from trades. Your conspiracy is just that, a baseless conspiracy.
Market Talk is pretty much that, but I see your point
There’s a duper list in the galleon market talk or general, can’t remember which channel
All of us old gen traders don’t give a shit about scamming, we made our money and we’re happy with that.
this is due to the lack of established traders on their team. Nuclearman7 is an inactive analyst going off my discussion with him. And H_ot has his own IRL issues he attends too
