LLMs do just run on algorithms
It does have its uses.
Like if this update is even half what its advertised as then yeah AI definitely has solid use for coding in the right hands lol.
What I don’t like about it is how people keep trying to jam it into art and music and all that sorta stuff.
I don’t really have an issue with coding because I don’t consider coding an art and if an AI is going to do anything well, its going to be that lol.
Its a tool, that’s the long and the short of it.
This may be one of those incidents where Vetex isn’t completely at fault, probably.
If they’re going to keep astral on the team despite having smeared another dev’s reputation and caused drama again, then this game won’t be able to continue without having incident after incident.

Not going to lie, Vetex should use AI as a tool to improve his development, the time between updates is just a bit too long and the amount of bugs due to badly written code is mind-boggling.
I know I can wait for updates far longer if I know that this place is safe from AI (mostly)
I know that’s not the consensus and in that sense it’d be a little selfish to force this viewpoint on the community but I’m sure I’m not alone to think that
I personally draw the line at “robot completely replaces human”
This is not the case here, as you’re probably well aware: AI code is utter dogshit if you can’t instruct it properly and work with its mistakes, and to do so, you need to be an experienced coder.
Therefore: AI code does not replace coders, it is a tool for coders to use.
You’ll need less coders, of course, but any tool that boosts efficiency means you need less people doing it.
I know, but to me this is less about quality than it is about the message it sends. To me, any usage of generative AI, whatever the extent or the goal is, is inseparable from all the problematics brought about by its different forms
So is the internet an inheritly evil tool? The internet brings a lot of bad things to it that I imagine most of aware of.
Disregarding the fact that this comparison doesn’t work at all, in our western capitalist societies, the Internet is necessary. We do not need AI.
Then again, keep in mind this isn’t the most important point. The comparison is simply not good so it’s the only point I have to make

And the internet hasn’t? I could argue online art isn’t real. It’s not pen and paper which is “true art” the internet has easily taken jobs. The internet has done all of that.
Cars took jobs away who needs horse mail with cars and the internet

I don’t hate the tool for existing, I hate how some people use and abuse the tool. ai can do wonders, it helps the medical field a lot for instance which can save lives but then you’ll have a cooperation turn around and to save a buck try to automate something. Does that make Ai evil? No a tool can very rarely be evil innately it’s how people use it more often
what about ai data centers poisoning large amounts of clean water with chemicals, making it unusable?
Again that is the person using the tool for evil
