I know that infinite air capacity sounds like a blessing( truthfully I’m biased toward keeping it), but I believe that every change has its reasons, and permanent air capacity isn’t exactly ideal when waterbreathing V is pretty common and intended to be solely for diving so it have to be how it is.
I just wondered if the balance team thought about the positive effects cap thingy since it would mean issues like heat mages won’t be able to defend themselves when the bare minimum to diving is waterbreathing+revealing, and now there is trouble with stronger sharks and visibility.
your main one is how swim speed would be unbalanced compared to air capacity and itd ruin diversity
again, you can balance without infinity being involved
so waterbreathing 5 is getting nerfed for having infinite air capacity for only 10 auric seaweed (far less than you need for this “100% air capacity” jewel set)?
the counter is just that the community is used to power so they whine when they have it removed from them, which causes the same damn drama whenever something is nerfed. if we just went for “well its fun so keep it” then might as well give everyone admin perms and have them spawn their own items because “its more fun than grinding yknow”
I mentioned it being balanced AND fun, youre removing balance AND fun with this bug fix while also adding more unecessary balance work after getting rid of the bug purely because of the words “bug” and “infinite”
I’ll take your word for that because I don’t study swim speed.
So once I get all those gems are they like temporary 1-time use like Waterbreathing V? Or can I use them at any time I choose? I’m a bit disconnected from the game so temporary gems might’ve been shadowpatched in. Because this is what I mean by “more accessible”
Actual valid point, I forgot the ingredient for air capacity is just auric seaweed which is super easy to get. This does kind of call into question why literal infinite waterbreathing is baby food but I don’t care enough to argue rn.
Yeah my point was that it’d be infinitely more justified in MC than in AO.
waterbreathing 5 constantly requires ressources so personally i dont see much issue with it. like yeah you got infinite air but a finite effect timer, so no its not really infinite
unlike jewels where you just do one dark sea run, dive a couple times to get maybe 50 auric seaweed and you are set for life never needing waterbreathing potions (i know its not an optimised set but still enough to stay there infinitely)
It wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of the player base doesn’t even know luck reagents exist because fishing sucks so much and it is not what people clicked on “Arcane Odyssey” to do.
Then the majority of people that do know probably cook those fish ASAP to get the scales, not knowing about the niche weird mechanic that promotes not cooking fish for more scales.
im not even talking about having a viable pvp set that incorporates waterbreathing jewels, literally juse have the most jank diving set with 10 terribly optimised waterbreathing musgravites and youll still never ever need waterbreathing potions again… well except to escape a fight if you werent prepared beforehand i guess
