I’m wissen223 (Sergo Barion), former Roselight Guardian Royal Guard #5 and i’m making this post to express my opinion and issues with this guild. I’m gonna seperate it all into points but its mostly gonna be a huge rant about how horribly the guild operates behind the scenes. Many of you, especially the members of Roselight, have probably seen the little arguement me, Puck, and Tuanan got into earlier today. Welp heres my full side of the story. (Its quite a lenghty read so in just a few words, the guild is an iceberg with the good/chill side being above water.)
1. How I was promoted - I was promoted to Imperial Knight about 2-3 weeks after joining the guild. I was the first Imperial Knight. Then about 2 weeks later I was promoted to Royal Guard. I felt this was pretty cool until I noticed a few things. The roles and the perms they had were extremely unorganized. I had quite literally LOST permissions despite being promoted. I brought it up like a week later which is how the Royal Guard rank recieved admin perms. Fair enough. However a while later the Guild Leaders decided that it would be a grand idea to take away their admin perms just because they didnt want them to see the “Guild Leaders” channel. Told them they could’ve just made a group chat instead of basically dropping everyone as moderator and it seemed to them like I just invented the wheel. Like seriously, just use your brain.
2. Having 3 (now 4) guild leaders is just plain DUMB - Ever since I joined I thought it was a bit odd that Roselight had more than 1 Guild Leader. However I kinda brushed it off to the side until I realized that it was actually hurting the guild and far more than helping. When asking the main Guild Leader why, I was given the excuse “It makes us unique.” In reality all it really does is confuse people with the common question, “who’s your guild leader?” A while ago I sent 1 of a few paragraphs about why having 3 guild leaders is a bad idea and what better alternatives would be. I’m just gonna copy paste it here. (All of this can be applied to having 4 Guild Leaders as well).
Summary
“We should not have 3 guild leaders - Now this has been one of the main talking points of our guild for a while. “3 guild leaders???” “Who leads the guild?” Why in the world do you have 3 guild leaders… I agree on the side that we SHOULD NOT have 3 guild leaders. Its incredibly pointless and all it does is cause confusion. Having 3 guild leaders doesn’t benefit the guild in any way, shape, or form. For the people that like to argue saying “3 leaders to divide the responsibility.” This statement makes no sense. No other guild to my knowledge, has ever needed to get more guild leaders just to divide responsibility. An alternative, better, and far less confusing way would be to have 1 guild leader and the other 2 receive a “Head Mod” type of role. That doesn’t need to be the exact name but it should be a role that is above royal guards and given to the most deserving and responsible members. The “Head Mods” would take some of the responsibilities of guild leader while not causing as much confusion.”
- After saying this I was immediately met with a response from Puck (easily the most immature of the 3 headless chickens), saying something along the lines of “You just want to demote me.” No further explanation needed.
3. How bad the staff are at making decisions - I say this frequently that the guild’s staff are extremely unorganized and do an ungodly amount of pointless things. Most of the time its, “hey can we get ____ to happen?” Everyone ends up in aggreeance but it just doesn’t happen. Multiple examples can be given. Before the guild update was even announced for release, we had planned on adding a new rank between Private and Imperial Knight since it seemed like quite the stretch to go from being able to choose a division to being a baby moderator. Everyone agreed to do it, but it didn’t get done. Now the guild update rolled around and when someone brings it up, they act like its the dumbest idea ever. Example #2, once again, before the guild update, everyone decided it would be for the best to give Joeymighty the “Co-leader” rank for the in-game guild because he was incredibly active and it would help more than hurt. However once the guild update came out, the 3 headless chickens had the amazing idea to name the “Co-leader” rank as “Leader.” So now for the next week or so, everytime we asked why Joeymighty cant be made Co, Jen responds with something along the lines of “No because the rank is named leader.” No further explanation needed.
4. Seemingly random and unearned promotions - When I first joined the guild it was pretty small. I had also noticed that Joeymighty was Royal Guard despite having joined literally 1 week before me. So I tell the guild leaders exactly this. “from experience when i was a hr in a dif game,
dont mix disc mods w hrs in strength for wom.”
Jen immediately responds with “ye I know.” However further down the line that really does not seem the case. Vik (Jan Ketch) was promoted to Imperial Knight and later to Royal Guard that same week because of how much infamy she gained and how many crowns she donated.
And when it comes to seemingly random, unearned, or horrible choices when it comes to promoting people, heres a few.
Eriksuperlol- Left Demon Realm and was promoted to Royal Guard the same day.
Puck - Said that the minimum amount of time you need to be in the server to become Royal Guard (a role that literally gives you admin perms) is 2 weeks.
Myself - Suggested to be Royal Guard 3 days into joining.
Joeymighty - Became Royal Guard after 1 week of being a member (could have been less but I don’t know because I was not there.)
Phant0mGame (Golden Marshall) - Was given Imperial Knight but it was later learned that hes a member of Suncry and that Roselight isn’t even his main guild. Everyone voted to demote him however he was not demoted.
Dablord141 - He wasn’t random promoted, I actually think he deserved it. (I put him here because he was the one who gave the promotion but I just forgot to who). But when he suggested someone be promoted to Imperial Knight, he waited only 30 minutes and no one had voted yet. So he decided to take it upon himself and just promote him without everyone voting yet.
5. Closed to suggestions - For about 2 weeks before I stepped down from Royal Guard (because I didn’t want to be part of the madness), I would point out flaws and mistakes about our guild and make suggestions about them. For each of them I would either get enough up votes for it to happen but it just wouldn’t be, one of the Guild Leaders would just say “No” and not even bat an eye, or just get straight up ignored. Funny thing is, today during the argument with me and Puck, he said “you’ve been like this for the last 2 weeks, nit picking at who gets promoted.” The funny thing is, during the 2 weeks, no one was promoted at all. The only time I there was promotions were during the end of my service where in the spand of 2 days there were 3 or 4 promotions to Imperial Knight and a few days later, Vik was made Royal Guard, and Joeymighty was promoted to Guild Leader. All that happened over the 2 weeks that Puck is refering to was me making suggestions to better the guild. However all that happened was the Guild Leaders claimed that I was being a “jackass” to everyone and basically just being mean. However, up to this point, I have only said 1 insult to any of the staffs.
This post is basically just a rant about how immature and unorganized the guild leaders and other staff are. If you agree or not, hate or don’t hate, is entirely up to you. (However I do know there will be many angree peeps out there). If anyone wanna know anything else or want any specific part to be explained then feel free to dm me on discord with your question at Wissen223#3292.
