because that’s its entire thing, you can’t have promethean flame without mentioning that lore if you want your players to know what it is, which you do if you’re making it accessible to them
there is not a world where promethean flame exists and some npc or lore tidbit somewhere or even the magic’s description when you see all the mutation options doesn’t call it the strongest magic at least once, and if an important npc uses it then it’s practically unavoidable
if the lore of promethean flame is changed so that it isn’t just the strongest then i’d be fine it being added, but the lore is that it’s just the strongest, so there’s no way
anyway IIRC each of the grand fire curses were better than promethean flame in SOME way. I think the green one burned better (DoT) or was more destructive, same with the others.
Yeah you’re right about on the money. Basically they were all the best at what they did. So while Promethean flame could do what the other GFCs could it couldn’t do it as well as them, a jack of all trades master of none.
Returning to this topic after being reminded of its presence, I offer my thoughts for you to read:
I think that Snow and Sand magic shouldn’t be a thing. Let’s begin by defining both.
Snow:
Snow is an aglomeration of microscopic water/ice crystals interlocking with one another to form a construct with air passing through it.
Sand:
Sand is a numerous amount of beads made up of varying particles ranging from metals, crystal, and earth laying on top of one another.
With that said, both are simply microscopic variants of pre-existing magics. Snow being made up of ice (which itself is just solid water) while Sand is made up of Earth/Metal/Crystal.
I don’t really have any convincing arguments other than this, so I’m hating to hate them, especially sand (as it’s the most reasonable of the two as with it being a bunch of different pre-existing magics put together and assorted in microscopic organisation).
That beings said, you should like sand and boycott snow.
