Ramses, ontop of his very unfunny unavoidable sky-flinging attack, also had the
anti-projectile/melee barrier up at nearly ALL times.
Atleast Savaria equipped you with a flintlock to obliterate him with incredible ease.
(what I said about being too easy to be a pain in the ass)
Verdies, ontop of being a pain in the ass for beam magics, also had the problem of all but one of his attacks being easily avoided by just… running to the side until he stopped.
Not to mention those obnoxious health potions he just used every 3 seconds.
I love this idea, although I will agree that the bosses in AA (or the two AA remakes, which I’ve played) aren’t great. Sure, there’s a few, but Marua was hard to fight effectively with his constant Force Choke and with his other attack being nearly an instant kill to new players. Ramses could also be better, especially with his giant whirlwind attack that was either an inevitable death or flung you back outside of Kairo.
Boss drops would also have to be nerfed pretty hard so that they don’t constitute two builds worth of their given stats. Theos’ gauntlet wouldn’t be balanced at all in AO, for example.
I just looked it up. It seems Vetex updated the lore to WoM since the last time I checked it. I barely played WoM, so I didn’t realize it changed. Back when WoM still in development and hadn’t been released to the public, this was back when AA was still around, the description said that magic was still in the early stages of development and it may have said it took place in the continent that Durza destroyed without directly mentioning Durza, don’t quote me on that. And cuz magic was new and growing, you could design your spells and whatnot.
Warmwater have a decent opinion challenge (impossible)
anyways, this is an amazing idea, and I think it could really help to unite the community and possibly bring back older players while helping to teach newer ones about the lore of the arcane universe.
I love the idea but Vetex would never add something like this, fun to think about (on the off chance he does add it, well I think AO would be my most played game)
While you do have a point with implementing the backend systems to support teleporting into a bossbattle, especially while in the dark sea. Its definitely not easy and im not gonna try to defend that is.
I’m talking more so about recreating the boss fights specifically.
Trigno for example
This is literally the default red t-shirt and pants with tan skin and the default black hair cosmetic.
He uses magma magic, his iconic attack is just a dragon head magma blast which is already implemented, via the blast spell shape option.
Nothing about him actually is different from any other combatable npc, except for his sea curse, which is negated anyway by magical energy, including cannonballs from cannon fist.
Arguably this could be ignored anyway or just reduced to a resistance to certain forms of attack, like how sharks already have a natural 50% resistance to all damage that isnt from ship weaponry.
It would probably be extremely easy to implement a trigno boss since he could just function like a normal npc or boss npc that uses magma magic. Randomly generated npcs already can act like this.
Even if you want to argue im cherry picking, characters like sage and verdies wear green and purple colored armor and use lightning and plasma magic.
sages attacks are just a basic lightning beam, an electric shockwave shape self explosion, and a large aoe ultimate art lightning blast.
Verdies most iconic attacks are a pillar shaped placed plasma explosion, and a very large low dmg self plasma explosion. The other two are just a basic plasma blast and a plasma blast barrage.
Ramses II just spams a a Sand Self Explosion.
I see your argument about implementing the backend, but recreating these guys would probably be no different than all the other npcs currently implemented.
lets just be honest, this is another borrowed feature from breath of the wild, so lets just go all in on that department
my take on this is:
Tales from the past
Tales from the past
A purchaseable DLC for (insert robux amount here (or none, this could just be a free thing))
if you have the badge for completing the main story and selecting your file, there will be a small button to the right of the play button:
Read learn of conflicts from the past
upon clicking the button, you will be teleported to a single player instance of the myriad, with an objective:
Tales from the past Speak to Randal
When you speak to Randal, he will state that he has created some books for you, as thanks for
(insert epic heroic thing you do in the story)
this will open a selection screen resembling the order screen, containing 4 (or more, i just wanted the significant ones) options:
The Trial of the Soul A master of flame testing their disciple.
(play as 2nd sea peacekeeper against 10% power Theos)
The Shining King’s Vengeance A bright soul faces their poisonous past.
(play as Averill against Captain Spade in the 4th sea)
The Volcano’s Rage A raging volcano faces their hot-headed rival for the last time.
(play as Trigno against Rupin in the 6th sea)
A Step into The Darkness A stubborn soul faces their corrupted tormenter.
(play as 4th sea peacekeeper against the kraken)
Upon completing these four, a fifth would appear:
The End of the Cursebeard War The peacekeeper takes their stand against the dark wizard.
(7th sea peacekeeper against Durza)
completing all of these would not give you any advantage or ability, but would make your head slightly glow (the color of your first magic (most points in magic)/first fighting style (most points in strength)/a bright blue (anything else)) with your understanding of the past
unsure about how much story would be packed into it, i was just thinking of the blight battles from the champions ballad
mostly funtioning as a way to give more fights/lore to the people that seek it out
Vetex would have to create unique boss fights and boss enviroments for each npc you proposed, then make sure all of them are bug free. That seems like a lot more effort imo
