idk what you mean by going to the past and killing your old self. only got the past life you lived and somehow going to the past to kill your old self when your soul literally left it later on. idk
probably nothing would happen other than knowing you’ll essentially kys when you’re about to die or smth or just ain’t got much left to do in life cause of age.

This is a simple concept, lets say you go back in time like a week and kill yourself from that that week, your old self exists there but you also exist there as your future self, there are two of you

My belief on time travel is if you change the past, then in that timeline’s present, you would not need to go back in time so then the time travel never happens and the timeline restores itself.
Essentially, time travel doesn’t work on changing the past, so the event of killing your past self would be erased by the timeline.
I was about to ask what would restore that but yes you’re correct, if you killed your past self, what even killed you if you didn’t exist
i completely skipped the killing hitler part but uh given the conditions of germany after ww1, ww2 probably would still happen. but maybe or likely without the holocaust and all that probably.

World War 1 definitely would still happen, but the reason world war 2 happened was because Hitler found The Treaty of Versailles to be unfair to Germany (which it was). This is what started world war 2 but only because Hitler took action, it’s possible that it could happen in some other way for someone else but it would probably not be likely
