“Ah yes, they survived a magical, Earth-shaking nuke but I’m sure a bullet will pierce right through them!”
(I don’t disagree with your plan to fight the AO protagonist btw, but saying a regular bullet to the head would kill the Peacekeeper is like saying a regular bullet to the head would kill Superman.)
Depends on whether the Peacekeeper has absorbed curses yet.
If they have? No, only magic energy can hurt them.
If they haven’t? Magic isn’t needed to harm them, so 7.62 can and will kill them. It’s not well defined how reinforcing your body with magic works, however I’m not sure how much it can protect against metal flying into your skull faster than the speed of sound.
I feel like if magical durability can protect Theos and the Peacekeeper from Durza’s continent-destroying nukes, it could definitely allow the Peacekeeper to tank a mere bullet
Theos dodged the attack, he didn’t tank it. While it likely still damaged him and flung him far away, magic reinforcement would protect him from damage - it’s still just magic energy. The same can’t be said for The Peacekeeper, however it can still be explained. “Acheron exploded into pure magic energy” Magic energy is what you can reinforce yourself against.
Your body doesn’t reinforce itself in responsible to getting hit with a big stick - if that stick was a magical construct however, it would.
A bullet can be assumed to follow similar logic. It’s a completely normal bullet, no magic involved. There’s no energy for reinforcement to protect against.
That’s my understanding, at least.
If I remember correctly, vetex said the peacekeeper could die from a bullet if they are caught off guard. Meaning that the durability amp from magic is most likely something people have to ‘toggle’
Random fuckass bandits doing percentage-based damage wouldn’t even change the game significantly if the “magic protection only works against magic attacks” theory is true.
Also the percentage of damage that the animals do decreases as you level up, meaning that your ability to magically tank their primarily physical attacks does get better over time.
this seems most likely, since these days Powder Fist users can afford to literally coat themselves in gunpowder and ignite it and use magic shielding to not get harmed.
